Los Osos vacation rentals are in the middle of a “bedroom community” of California. Many residents have Los Osos villas in Los Osos, California but most work outside of the actual town. Instead, they use the commuter town to get as close to San Luis Obispo as they can. On a great day, visitors to Los Osos cottages can head to Montana de Oro State Park. The park is roughly six miles from Morro Bay, placing it approximately 16 miles from most Los Osos vacation rentals. The park was named “Mount of Gold” due to the wildflowers that grow throughout the entire area. With 8,000 acres of park land that includes coastal plains, sandy beaches, streams, canyons, cliffs, and hills, visitors will not be bored. It is possible to mountain bike, hike, or ride through the park along the numerous groomed trails.
Morro Bay is one attraction you might not want to miss due to Morro Rock and the surrounding bay. With a short drive from most Los Osos villas, guests can reach Morro Rock, a 576-foot volcanic plug. Up until 1969, the rock was quarried for its important minerals but local residents sought to preserve what remained in order to save the peregrine falcon that resides on the rock.
