Good sized studio in a great location

  • 5 of 5
This apartment is well laid out and seems larger than it is. There is a good amount of storage, the bed is comfortable, the kitchen large enough to prepare great meals. There is a clothes washer and dishwasher to make life a little easier. However, the "dryer" that is listed is a laundry rack, not an electric clothes dryer so it does take a day to get clothes dry. The bathroom is good sized and has an enclosed shower. One of the biggest pluses is that there are three large windows which make the apartment bright and airy. The only downside we found is that, being an old building, the drainage for the sinks and shower are a bit slow...but this isn't a big deal.

The location is ideal for those that want to get a taste of real Parisian life. There is an excellent Bio boulangerie (bakery) at the end of the block (and quite a few others in the immediate area). Rue Mouffetard is just a couple minutes stroll away with all the shops you need for cheese, veggies, wine, meat, chicken, gourmet items, prepared foods, etc. as well as dozens and dozens of restaurants. The apartment is also close to the metro so if you don't feel like walking it is simple to get to the heart of Paris in just a few stops.

Dina, the concierge is wonderful, friendly and helpful. Cecile was excellent at communicating to arrange and then re-arrange our dates (we added a day at the end as the apartment was not rented for that day).

We stayed 10 days here and could easily have stayed longer!!!

Convenient to many things

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I took our daughter to Paris to celebrate her college graduation. This was me and my husband's very first trip to Paris-our daughter's second. We stayed the first 2 nights in a hotel and then the second two nights in this flat. We loved the convenience of this apt. for going to the Rue Mouffetard and also the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens, and the Pantheon. Also, we could take a bus about a block away to catch the Metro to the RER B to the airport which was a big plus since we did not have a car. My daughter likes to cook so we were able to buy some food at the nearby market to cook a meal (saving some $$ from eating out every night) as the kitchen was fully stocked for cooking a simple meal. Dina, the Gardienne, gave us helpful tips. Cecile was prompt in answering emails and very accommodating to our needs/questions! I would recommend this for no more than 3 people as there is one bathroom. One small downside was that there is not a dryer but this is common in Europe from what I've heard. There is simply not enough space in many of the apts. Also, the washer takes longer than a typical "American" washer so plan accordingly. All in all, we felt safe in this apt. as there was a secure code to get in and a courtyard area separating the stairway to the apt. *(FYI: The stairs were somewhat steep/narrow for anyone that may have any physical challenges.) Paris was playing in the World Cup so in the middle of the night, someone had their t.v. playing quite loudly. All part of the fun! Ha. When we go back to Paris (who doesn't want to, right?) we would try to stay here again! I think most people will enjoy the non-stop activities around the area. Our daughter also liked the area as it was close to the University so she could see what college life might be like in Paris!

Tips for writing reviews - what to include:

  • What did you most enjoy about your stay?

  • Was the property a good fit for the group you were traveling with?
  • What nearby activities, attractions, or restaurants did you enjoy?
  • What did the owner or property manager do to provide great customer service?
