We were lucky to be able to call " Beaucaillou" our home for three months.
Beaucaillou is a converted 17th century barn, with the added feature of a pétanque court (boules) in the lower garden.
The main floor has an open plan fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room, each area with it's own French doors opening onto the terrace.
Upstairs..Master bedroom and ensuite powder room and a second large bedroom with views over the back garden, and a full bathroom and laundry facility. Most comfortable beds with linens and towels provided.
The terrace is perfect for alfresco dining or lounging in the sun.
Location is great for sight seeing in the surrounding Lot Valley and Dordogne region.
Plenty of Farmer's Markets are held in nearby villages and towns, and large supermarkets are only 15 minutes away.
The village has an épicerie (general store with a depot de pain so you can get fresh bread), a Post Office, a specialty Spice shop and a Restaurant.
The area is great for taking walks and exploring nature and the countryside.
The town of Gourdon only 15 minutes away has a public swimming pool, many restaurants , shops and supermarkets and also a Cinema.
It is also located near the heart of the Cahors wine region, with many vineyards offering degustations and tours.
We would recommend this accommodation to friends and family.
The owner was very responsive to our enquiries and messages.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Dégagnac and the comforts of Beaucaillou.
Postcards from the Lot blog has more details about the area.
