This is a marvelous cottage set in glorious countryside with fine views, and if you like wildlife, the Red Squirrels, calls from the nesting Ospreys and daily views of the nearby nesting Buzzard family are a real bonus!
My wife and I have visited nearly 10 times, and I have to say that I do not recognise Little Puddockwells from then earlier negative review ( nor would you if you read the visitors book full of fulsome praise!)
The cottage has always been of the highest standard of cleanliness, and is very well equipped. Cookiing facilities have always been clean and well maintained, and the owner makes a real effort with the little details - a welcoming pack of biscuits, milk and teabags, and a selection of up-to-date magazines "Scotland Outdoors". There is even a list of their own DVDs which can be borrowed should the fancy take you!
The cottage is along a secluded lane, but close to the owner's own house, and the views from the downstairs are lovely, but the views from the outdoor eating area - just beside the side door - are some of the most distinctive in Perthshire - the lovely Deuchary and Benacally Hills.
Since our first visit nearly a decade ago, Little Puddockwells has been a favourite. On our recommendation, my Mum and Dad have visited several times and fallen in love with it too! The owner is always helpful, friendly and welcoming
and Mum & Dad found her advice about local attractions helpful and well-informed. For hillwalkers wanting the Mountain Weather forecast the O2 phone signal, at least, is full strength there and the owner's idea of introducing WIFI is a real bonus.
Little Puddockwells is a place that I leave with regret and re-book as soon as we are home again. It is a place to return to after hard days in the hills, a home from home to relax and soak in the lovely views, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
