This accommodation is first class. The house is furnished and equipped to a high standard. Everything is provided, including an internet link and central heating if you need it.
We stayed in the villa for a fortnight in the spring when everything was still green and there were flowers everywhere. The house is situated in an area of low density housing - you are in a community but there are fields between the houses. Don’t come here if you want total solitude but do if you want to get a feel for Greek day to day living. It may have been because it was spring, but the diversity of birdsong around the house was particularly beautiful, especially at night with the nightingales.
There is a decent supermarket close by that should supply you with all that you will need.
The island of Evia provides lots to see. Many parts are beautiful and it is surprising that it hasn’t attracted more foreign tourists. Take your pick from attractive mountains or coastal scenery. You can explore the whole island from Villa Katerina and if you want a change, Athens and some other mainland attractions such as Delphi are reachable in a day as well.
Any trips venturing beyond the main roads will benefit from GPS or some planning unless you are comfortable rapidly reading road signs in the Greek alphabet.
But we must make special mention of the owner of the house, Vaso. She is extremely helpful in all respects. She ensures that some provisions are in the house when you arrive, will advise you on what to do and where to go and is easily reachable during your stay.
We are very grateful to her.
We can unreservedly recommend this villa.
