We stayed here as a family of four (2 kids aged 3 & 5) with grandparents joining for us the second week. It was all we had hoped for and more.
We loved it as it was far away from any maddening crowds and yet within 20 minutes of anything you could possibly want or need.
There are a choice of beaches to visit. Our favourite was Vale do Lobo with its array of bars and restaurants at one end on the beach and yet with plenty of space just beyond the sun-loungers where any beach bum would be close to heaven.
(However if you stay in Val de Lobo itself you lack space, views, privacy and peace and quiet when it comes to the accommodation.)
We spent alternate days at the beach and around the pool at the villa. Poolside was gorgeous. The space around the pool is generous and the garden adds to the feel of privacy and peace and quiet.
We enjoyed numerous bbqs and ate outside at the dining table almost every night. Before dinner we had drinks whilst relaxing on the outdoor sofa and arm chairs taking in the view as the sun went down. The photos of this property are accurate but simply don't do the place enough justice.
Its a welcoming villa with many more homely touches than previous villas we have rented. It was also a pleasant surprise to arrive to a "welcome" pack so much more substantial than we have ever had - bottled water, milk, bread, jam, eggs, tea, coffee, sugar and lots of dishwasher tablets.
Yes you need a car to get everywhere but then when taking a trip to the beach with 2 kids with towels, buckets, spades, sun cream and possibily a picnic in tow you need a car whether its 5 or 15 minutes away.
Quite simply, after 2 weeks we were sad to leave.
We would love to go back....
