Lovely coastal retreat

  • 5 of 5
We had a very enjoyable 5-night stay at this apartment in September/October.

The owners were very hospitable and charming. They took the time to make sure we knew how things worked in the apartment and suggested places to visit during our stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean, comfortable, very well equipped, and had very good light for reading.

The village of O Pindo is lovely. As we drove into town, we knew immediately that we had picked a great place to stay. After a day of sightseeing we would go to the Sol e Mar Ceveceria, a lively hangout for locals, to have a drink, enjoy the sunset, and catch up with email using their free WiFi. There's a little grocery store just steps from the apartment that had most everything we needed to set up our kitchen after we arrived.

Santiago de Compostela was an easy day-trip, about an hour each way. We also enjoyed exploring some of the smaller towns in the region including Noia, Muros, and Muxia.

We would recommend this apartment without hesitation to anyone looking for a relaxing base for exploring Galicia. -- Susan and Chas, San Francisco, USA

Wonderful O Pindo

We stayed in the first floor apartment for 2 weeks the beginning of Sept with our friends from England Chris and Carol. Andi and Monica had left wine, sweets and little flowers in all of the rooms making us feel most welcom. The apartment was very well equiped with bedding and towels etc and perfectly clean. The postition of the apartment is fantastic just across the plaza and onto the beach. The sunsets most evenings were beautiful. The little village shop sold everything you could think of at a very good price. Andi and Monica were living in the same village so were always at hand if needed and gave us ideas of where to go and what to see. They could not be more helpful. It is a fantastic place for the young and old as there is an amazing amount to see and visit. The beaches are never ending and very clean and do not have the 'tourist' facture of many other places in Spain or elsewhere, just tranquil.
The trip to Santiago is a must everywhere you go around the north of Spain you see the pilgrims walking. Santiago itself is quite amazing with the Cathedral to the quaint little streets to wonder along. We ate in a small bustling cafe which was very reasonable about 7 euros pp. We found the cost of food very cheap after living in France for the last 21 years and seeing everything rocket in price it was nice to find somewhere that was still very affordable,
I would like to say on behalf of the 4 of us thanks you very much Andi and Monica for a wonderful holiday [ the best I have every had] I we will be returning hopefully next year. Hope other guests have such a good time as us it was a good 'chill out' for my husband and myself.
The weather was very good just adding to the very good week. What more can I say ?
