We recently spent 3 nights in this great cabin (cabin? Resort!)
It was a family weekend, my fiance, his brother, his daughter and grandchildren, teenage son, my grown daughters, their spouses, and my sister.
The house is ideal for family gatherings. The floorplan is open, but also cozy and private. The whole house has a nice flow. The kitchen is very functionally planned and well appointed. The owners have thought of everything, when cooking or working in the kitchen, everything just makes sense! The stove was a delight for me, 5 gas burners.
The furniture is comfy and appropriate for the mountain forest setting in Summerhaven. The fireplace is impressive, as are the big windows in the main room.
The bedrooms are each individually charming, each furnished differently.
For the amount of guests we had, this place was the perfect size. My fiance and I live in Tucson, most of our guests were from out of town. We decided at some point after reserving the cabin, that since we had everyone together, we would get married there.
We decided to have the ceremony on the deck, facing out over the mountains above Summerhaven. It was beautiful! We decorated the deck simply with flower pots, ribbons, and tulle. The ceremony went perfectly, the photos came out great. With the mountains and the cabin deck in the background, it would be hard to find a better setting.
The day was truly wonderful. I couldn't have asked for better weather, location, or ceremony. We liked that we were all staying overnight and didn't have to worry about leaving by a certain time, as in a regular venue. It was a special day for me of course, but everyone enjoyed the weekend immensely. It was a nice mini-vacation for all.
The cabin is so comfortable, you feel welcome and at home from the minute you enter. I would definitely stay here again!
