My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner was very accomodating. I touched base with her a couple of times and she was delightful . The house is a well loved antique and vintage lovers dream. I felt very comfortable and at home immediately. The grounds and views are wonderful. We loved coming home at the end of the day. We ate lavishly on meals prepared by our own private chef right in our own kitchen. Sat on the porch in super comfortable chaise lounges and watched the world renowed Kona sunsets over Kealakekua bay. The rainy season had just finished so the yard was a little overgrown and needed some TLC . I still enjoyed exploring it. Not to ruin anyones surprise but this propery has a few hidden jewels on site. If you hike around the property, you'll be sweetly surprised by all it has to offer. In other words the house is not the only thing to enjoy here. I did not want a resort vacation; rather a true Hawaiian experience . This is exactly what we got. Place of refuge absolutely a must see is only a short drive away and The Painted Church on the way delightful. Snorkeling very close by as well. The shopping right down the hwy was also enjoyable. Must have breakfast at The Coffee Shack ( 5-10 mins away) views of the coffee fields below are spectacular. Wait staff remembered us each day and gave us the same perfect table. Patz pizza, again just down the hwy a short distance was the best pizza we've had in years!!!!! Had to give that chef a break one night. By the way he used all local ingrediantes. Kona and Hilo farmers markets are great for food and local crafts. We will definately do this again. FYI, there is an ohana which had tenants as well but we never crossed their paths. There was room for everyone to enjoy.
