we stayed here in the summer of 2009 and over all, it was fantastic. the house itself is close enough to the ocean, but, unbelievably, set in a relatively private way, so that if you are on a deck you don't have neighbors on a deck right next to you. this, in itself, is crazy hard to find for the price. in corolla, it was a great location, was clean, close to the ocean, and had a great kitchen. we loved having the pool, because unfortunately our son had broken his leg shortly before our trip, and bringing him to the beach in the sand was almost impossible with the waterproof cast. he was in the pool constantly though, with the TONS of toys available.
there were some ants, and the miniature studio apartment-type area down at ground level was a little dank, but we've been to the outer banks a number of times before, and in reality, unless you are spending a ton of money, that is something that is hard to avoid.
overall, this was one of the best vacations we've ever had, not in small part due to Camelot. We really enjoyed ourselves, and I'm sure, in the future, will try to make it back. Thanks, Chris!
p.s. i think, looking back, that i left my glasses there. -- still worth it!! :)
