We stayed in this townhouse for 3 months - January through March and loved it! Our party consisted of my husband, myself, our two children (ages 8 & 11) and my parents. The neighbors were all very kind and helpful to us newbies.
The arrangement was perfect for us. Upstairs consists of an open concept kitchen, dining, and living room, 2 bedrooms, two bathrooms and a closet with stackable washer and dryer. Both levels have a very large screened lanai overlooking the water and separate controls for heat and a/c. The lower level has a bedroom, family room, a hallway with trundle bed and another bath. There is an outside entrance on both levels. The heated pool and tennis courts are just a few doors down. Fishing in the canal was fun and we enjoyed eating fresh fish several nights. We even saw dolphins out back one day! The neighbors showed us photos of manatees that have visited. Amberly, at AParadise, was great to work with and very responsive whenever we needed something.
This location is awesome! Robinson Preserve is just across Manatee Rd and is an excellent place to walk, ride bikes and we even kayaked over a few times. Our favorite part of Robinson Preserve was bicycling on the bay side over the wooden bridges and exploring in the kayak. There's also a tall tower to climb and take in the views. The 3 1/2 mile bike ride to the beach, all the way at the West end of Manatee Rd, is lovely and a good way to avoid trying to find a parking spot. Looking for dolphins along the way is fun too. There are concessions, restrooms, a place to hose off and they sometimes have live music. Sunsets here are gorgeous. If you'd rather stay close to home and experience the beach, just turn right on Manatee and enjoy all the beachfront along the road, which also allows dogs and has picnic tables. There are countless restaurants and shopping very close. One of our favorite restaurants to dine waterside was Mar Vista. We also enjoyed the frozen custard at Sweet Berries. Jose's on Cortez looks like a little dive but had good Cuban food. Brick Oven pizza on Cortez is a must visit. They offer a pizza buffet with fresh salad and sundaes; all for under $8. Yoders Restaurant in Sarasota has awesome Amish food! I'd recommend checking out Fresh Market for specialty groceries.
Three months here and there's still plenty more to see and do.
We definitely recommend this place!
