My wife and I wanted to go somewhere private and quiet for our anniversary when we stumbled across this little gem tucked away off the banks of Cedar River. We've done bed and breakfast type places and smaller, more scenic, inn's before, but none this secluded and relaxing. We ended up taking full advantage of the amenities including the canoe, hot tub, fire pit and gas grill.
Every meal we cooked there was better than the last and even cooked steak over a bed of coals on the fire pit, which is one of the best steaks I've ever eaten.
Be prepared to take a little jog down a gravely country road and have zero cell signal at the cabin, but just embrace it. There are so few places you can go now a days that are that off the grid, that it was fantastic to not even have that as an option to check your e-mail or text anyone. Embrace the moment and breathe in the fresh air and serene scenic view.
My wife is already talking about making plans to go back. A recommendation for anyone looking to completely disconnect and relax in a place that seems almost too good to be true.
