Joan and her granddaughter had prepared the apt. very well for our stay. She accommodated a late date change on our part, which helped us out a great deal. The apt. was as pictured. It is charming, as advertised, and is in a great location. It is surprisingly quiet and very close to every thing you would like to have available in the Village. There are dozens of good restaurants within several blocks. New Yorkers who were told where we were staying were uniformly positive and impressed regarding the street address.
While the building is old ( historically so ), the apt., is well maintained and clean. There is only one flight of stairs so there is easy access. Joan has a really nice convection oven but we wanted to have a microwave, so we bought one to use for our month's stay, and then donated to our daughter and son-in-law for use in their shop. The window air conditioner in the bedroom kept the place adequately cool during some rather hot days, when used in conjunction with the overhead fan in the living room.
Overall, we very much liked the apt., and felt it contributed to our exceptionally enjoyable New York trip. We would recommend it to friends and relatives. In fact , the friends and relatives that saw it during our stay liked it too.
