We are a family of three including a little baby girl, who got to see the ocean for the first time in her life. Our two week stay at Gail's property at Aston Kaanapali Villas was perfect.
From the moment we arrived we were pleased to notice how clean everything was. The carpets had been properly washed and our baby crawled happily about.
The condo is very spacious, and bright which is nice for longer stays, because you feel almost like you are in the comforts of your own home. The kitchen is modern, fully functional, and we cooked every single meal in there. All necessary pots and pans, utensils and dishes were there. Also, we were pleasantly surprised to find a variety of condiments in the fridge and cupboards. We shopped at Costco for groceries and managed to prepare five star meals every day for a fraction of the cost of if we would have eaten out. We also used the natural gas BBQs on the property many times. They were great.
The balcony is long and narrow but you do get a view of the ocean and the pool from it. Our baby loved looking out from the balcony at any chance she got. We were amazed at the number and variety of birds that you can see. If you forget the balcony screen doors open, the birds will come right into the leaving room. The baby got so excited when this would happen.
The grounds at the Kaanapali Villas are amazing. We had never seen so many kinds of flowers and trees and shrubs. They were greatly maintained every day to our admiration. The staff that works the property is very polite and helpful.
The pools are wonderful, with a very shallow end for little ones. Our baby loved the pool, and we spent a lot of time there. The beach in front of the property is beautiful, but it gets deep very fast and waves can be a bit much for a little baby, so we did not spend much time in the water unfortunately. For older kids and adults this is would be one of the best beaches in the world.
This was our first time in Maui so we did a Luau. (Old Lahaina Luau) Was a wonderful experience and highly recommended. No fire dancers there though. We visited the aquarium and had a blast there. We went to Lahaina a couple of times and had amazing gelatto. We also did a sunset cruise with Trilogy which loaded right on the Kaanapali beach and had an amazing time for a couple of hours. This was our favorite activity.
We will definitely return to Maui and most likely to Gail's property. This is a top-notch destination for some fun in the sun.
