This review is for the Belvedere 2, the studio located on the first floor (European), second floor (US). This was a pleasant and good sized studio in a fully refurbished building (unusual for Venice). The building interiors have been remodeled in a modern architectural style. The apartment has double paned windows on two sides, has tall ceilings, and is well lit in the daytime. The kitchen is housed in a cabinet system, is adequately equipped, but very compact. However, I was able to cook complete meals and it was nice to be able to close the doors and not feel I was sleeping in the kitchen. The bathroom is large and clean. The studio has two twin beds so it is appropriate for two people.
Location was excellent. It is right off Via Garibaldi where it meets the San Marco Canal. The street is the broadest, straightest street in Venice and is quite clean. The bakery, butcher, produce market, and general market were all a short stroll from the apartment and easy to find. The area has an open feel and was quite a relief to return to after a day of poking through Venice’s alleys. There are cafés and snack bars with open air dining within a few yards of the door. It is only two bridges from the Arsenale stop where both the local vaporetto and Alilaguna airport boat stop.
The Owner met me at the waterbus stop and walked me to the building even though my flight arrived late in the evening. He was pleasant and provided instruction on how to use the apartment. There were no added charges unlike other places (no late arrival fees, utility fees, etc.). Clean linens were provided as were soaps, detergents, even some useful condiments in the kitchen.
Overall a very pleasant stay and I will certainly consider returning here again.
