We had a full house in Bali Kai #201. From ages 9 to 79. We were a little concerned after reading some of the past reviews, but went ahead and booked it anyway mostly based on the view. We were not disappointed and we didn't experience any issues with the accommodations that others had mentioned. There was everything that we needed in the condo. Plenty of room, nice furnishings, lots of beach toys, and the kitchen had all we needed to have some meals "at home". Even if it didn't have anything, the view was worth every penny. Hearing the waves crashing and watching the surfers from the lanai made it a true Hawaiian experience. The beach was nice for a little cooling off in the humid August weather, but be careful if you go out too far. Lots of sea urchins in the rocks and their spines will get you. (Warning signs further down the complex, but nothing outside #201). We didn't have much experience with the actual complex staff. They were a bit rude since we hadn't booked through them, but we didn't need to rely on them for anything anyway. The kids enjoyed the pool a couple of times. Take a chance on #201. You won't regret it. Also, take advantage of the Kona Coast Vacations Concierge service. Kelly was great. She helped us pull all our activities together and offered lots of fun suggestions and was very flexible on booking on short notice. And if you need a rental car, we got the best deal through the Kona Coast Vacations site as well. Great fun all around. It was a trip to remember.
