Beautiful View; Beautiful Place!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Grandview over our high school daughter's Spring Break. We had not been to the USVI before and I cannot think of a better place to have made our first stay.

Grandview is situated on a nice bluff overlooking Great Cruz Bay. The house is easily accessible from the ferry dock; about a 5 minute drive down the main south side road to a small loop road just past the Westin Resort. There are lots of places nearby to purchase food, beverages, and supplies.

The setting is serene: small boats floating lazily at anchor in the bay, lush greenery surrounding the home, the shoreline and hills of St Thomas off in the distance, blue sky and bluer water, and gentle breezes. There is a large sun deck on the east side of the house with a dining table and grill, a small private deck on the west side of the house, and fronting the entire length overlooking the bay, a veranda with chairs to drink in the view and the spectacular evening sunsets.

This same view can be enjoyed from each room along the front (bay-facing) side of the house - there are floor to ceiling screened sliding windows/doors in the center great room - which includes two sitting areas, dining area, and the kitchen - and the two bedrooms on either side. Each front bedroom has it's own bath and outdoor shower, and a third bedroom is on the driveway side of the home, with an additional loft sleeping area and it's own bathroom.

It's such an easy house to be in! Everything you need to feel right at home: all the kitchen appliances, beach chairs, cooler, the grill, wonderful beds and bedding, and more. It's easy to get to, easy to shop, and easy to get to almost everywhere else on the island!

We loved the beaches! We thought we might miss having a pool, but having the majority of beaches in the National Park made it just so unique and interesting - each beach with it's own characteristics and beauty. We initially went to the beach at the Westin thinking we might want to be around available chairs, beverage service, etc. We immediately discovered that the Park beaches really are just fabulous and thereafter we hit a a different beach everyday!

In Cruz Bay there are all kinds of really great dining options - from high end top quality restaurants to family-style beach-front joints. Again, we thoroughly enjoyed all that there was to offer.

It was a terrific trip: great accommodations, easy planning with both the owner and the rental agent, and St John relaxation!

Great house for the price

This house is great for the price. This is our second time staying here. The third bedroom is a nice addition to the house. Adding the air conditioner to the living room/kitchen area is a great addition. The internet went down but we called and someone came and reset the modem. We did a half day sailing trip with Cloud 9. We enjoyed the trip. We also ate at Skinny Legs. We enjoyed this restaurant and would go back. It is on the other side of the island. We mainly went to Cinnamon Bay; but also went to Honeymoon and Solomon Bay. On our next visit we would go back to Honeymoon and Solomon Bay. It is worth the walk.
I would recommend this property. The house is clean and the kitchen is well stocked. The owner provided good service.
