We chose Med Point because the other travelers' reviews were terrific, and they were spot on. We looked at a LOT of properties on the Homeaway and VRBO sites, and ultimately chose Med Point because it seemed to have the best location and beach access, and we DEFINITELY made the right decision. If you want seclusion, beautiful views and a beach literally outside your doorstep, Med Point is the best option.
A rental vehicle is a must (ideally a jeep or CRV), as the house is a 5 minute drive from Governor's Harbor, some of which is on rough terrain. Make no mistake though - the drive to the house is breathtaking. I kept having to slow down so I could stare and marvel at the beautiful beach that ended up being 'next door.'
We drove into town several times a day, either to grab some coffee & breakfast at Da Perk, pick up snacks and water for the house, or to sit on Cupid's Cay for a viewing of the sunset. Tippy's also became a favorite spot, with a great selection of beers and top-notch food, not to mention a fun, relaxing vibe.
The house itself is exactly as described - very open, bright and clean. It has everything you need in terms of amenities, and with the sliding glass doors open on the east and north side, the breeze was incredible. For those few times when we needed a break from the sun & sand, we enjoyed lounging on the couches reading a book, or stargazing at night on the deck to the sound of the ocean.
We had a chance to meet the owners, who were staying in Alfred House (just across the lane); they were so friendly and welcoming, and it's obvious they love and take pride in this property. When we come back to Eleuthera (not IF), we will stay at Med Point again. Next time we will probably opt for some more adventure (boat rental, snorkeling, trip to Harbor Island) but for our honeymoon we had the perfect time enjoying French Leave & Twin Coves beach (on the ocean side) and Cocodimama beach on the seaside, making friends with other travelers and locals, and generally enjoying life on 'island time.'
