Owner's description of this apartment very fair. The middle apartment of the three apartments in the building, the top two of which are rented and the bottom occupied by Dana, one of the building owners (very pleasant and helpful). Elizabeth, the primary contact absentee owner, very pleasant. On very steep hill just below Coit Tower. The decor is Eames era with lots of paintings and interesting furnishings and books. Nice well furnished kitchen. Lots of room. Large bedroom with tons of closet space sleeps two, and the couch in the living room converts into a bed which sleeps one or two more. We loved the roof deck (not safe for children) and watching the flocks of parrots fly by as well as the hummingbirds which were everywhere. Great views of the city and of Coit Tower from the roof deck. Free parking space is a plus but requires a mid size or smaller car (our VW Jetta barely fit it), confident parallel parking skills (you need to squeeze within a foot of a brick wall on the passenger side) and an assistant who can guide you into the confined space and out onto the street. Try to avoid doing it after dark. Car useful to get groceries at Safeway (free parking there) on Bay Street. Several bus lines have stops near Washington Park two blocks away. Free washer and drier a plus but they are old and the drier takes a long time. We loved both the apartment and the neighborhood and would be delighted to return in the future.
