Beautiful, Quiet, and Comfy!

Our group of four couples spent our annual memorial day weekend retreat at Ladyslipper lodge for the first time in 2013. We were very happy with the northwoods decor in house and the beautiful scenery surrounding the property. We rented the pontoon and it easily accomodated our whole group. The crappies were eagerly biting in shallow water and we quickly caught enough fish for a delicious lunch. The fish were all around 9-10 inches which is great for filleting. Some pike and bass also joined in the action.
We loved the fully stocked kitchen as each couple took turns preparing meals. The grill worked great and the big table allowed us to all sit down together to eat. There are lots of games downstairs including pool, ping pong, bag toss, ring toss, and others which we definitely enjoyed. The fire pit is huge and Tony has a lot of wood ready to use. We had a fire every evening.
The only drawbacks to this property is that you need to walk up a full flight of stairs to get to the main level which gets old fast. Also there were quite a few asian beetles in the house when we were there and many areas of the house hadn't been properly vaccumed in quite some time.

Awesome Autumn Retreat

We had a very enjoyable stay at Lady Slipper Lodge in early September. This well-kept, high quality cabin has a unique setting on its own peninsula, with great walking trails through the woods. As you drive that last mile or so through the woods to reach the cabin, you'll feel like you are truly surrounded by nature, but with the comforts of home. In addition to fishing, there is plenty of yard space outside for lawn games. And the game room in the basement is great for evenings or rainy days. Even though you feel like you are secluded in your own private place, the town of Remer is an easy drive where you can find pretty much anything you need. Last but not least, the owner is pleasure to deal with, and very reponsive to questions. Thanks Tony!
