I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was more than happy with the location.
The vacation rental was spotless.
The property manager was very helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
Beautiful property -excellent for adults, just OK for little ones
My family (6 adults and twin 1 year olds) stayed at this beautiful & private property for 1 week. With most advertised vacation homes, the pictures over-promise the real deal. However, Northwest Passage is even more expansive and spacious than we expected.
The view, architecture, and amenities did not disappoint.
The only two issues we had were around location and how baby-friendly the house is.
The property waaay over on the west side of the island, so going to get groceries or for a simple walk with the stroller, required getting in the car and making a trip into "town". It's only a ~15 minute drive but when you have two babies, it's not that simple. We were hoping that there'd be a way to go for walks with the stroller but the roads on the west side of the island are pretty narrow and not safe enough to walk along with a single stroller albeit a double stroller.
There is Lime Kiln Park which is a very quick 4-minute drive where we were able to walk around and have a picnic with the babies. And Roche Harbor (15-min drive) was another baby-friendly place with a playground and swings.
Although our little girls totally enjoyed crawling around in the big open living room space, we had to watch them very carefully, as there are steep stairs down to the basement level floor. We brought a baby gate knowing that there were stairs however, the stairs opening was way too wide for any standard baby gate. I'm guessing at least 5 ft wide.
The master bedroom was plenty big to fit the two pack and play cribs we brought along. And the babies loved plahing in the big jacuzzi tub for bath time.
Another tip for folks who are bringing little ones to this house, bring a roll of blue painters tape to tape up the power outlets. There were many outlets along the baseboards.
We hope to come back to this beautiful property once the kids are old enough to deal with stairs on their own :-)
