We were not disappointed with the VRBO at all. It is as the photos show and the staff were very friendly. Aida worked hard to not be intrusive and Marcus was there at once when we accidently pressed the button on the safe. The pool was spotless and and perfect for a refreshing dip and layabout. We walked into town at least once a day and loved the bit of exercise it gave us. You so need to be reasonably fit though for the hill and stairs. We are now just waiting for a one day refund due to early on change in dates but expect that to also be not disappointing.

One of the best vacations of our life. We fell in love.

This must have been one of the best weeks of our life. The beauty and experience provided by Sayulita, combined with a hacienda that truly felt like home made this the perfect stay.

First, the home - Beautiful views everywhere, a true mexican feel, extremely well appointed suites, each with its own bathroom/shower. This place was built to make people feel as happy as possible, and it certainly succeeds. We found everything we needed and more - we enjoyed discovering board games, dvds, books, a cd collection, portable speakers to bring tunes near the pool, binoculars to watch the surfers in the morning - Everything provided made the stay comfortable, laid back, and above all: fun!
For the beach, we had everything we could have asked for and more: beach towels, umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards, even rash guards. They even have an ice pack that, when inserted in a cooler, make 6 perfect spots for cans of beer or soda. I swear, if you need it, they have it.

Second, the town. Sayulita is a gem, it's a special place, with a special feel. No big hotels here!! We loved the vibe and energy. You definitely get an 'off the beaten track' local experience, but you can still find a good bottle of wine for dinner, or croissants for the morning. Basically, there's something for everyone if you are not afraid to get out there and explore. We had a ton of fun at the beach, every day trying a different local food stand - and it was so affordable - we ate like kings!! On the beach, there are some vendors, but they understand 'no gracias' quite well, and many offer convenient things (fresh fruit, chicken or shrimp skewers, donuts, pizza, etc...).
If you want a busy beach, you can have that. If you want a stretch of beach with almost no one, you can have that too, if you want to totally deserted beach, you can hike over to one.

Lastly, I want to say that I really enjoyed the experience of communicating with the owner before the trip. He always responded quickly, was a wealth of information and gave us excellent advice. We arrived in town knowing where to go eat, what surf school to go to, what day trips to do, etc etc etc. Communication with him and all the great info he provided definitely contributed to the quality of the overall experience. Thanks Randy!!

I wholeheartedly recommend this vacation rental. My only worry is that with all these positive reviews, this place may become less and less available... And we want to go back!!!
