after a long ride with twin 7mth olds, a 12yr old and our 120lb dog.. we arrived to this great cabin... everything needed was there and ready to go. just need to bring your clothes, food and cosmetic essential's. The cabin is perfect, open floor plan, which is great with just crawling babies, awesome deck with grill and yes we grilled 7 of our 8 nights there. Dishwasher and washer/dryer are great bonuses, as was the fans and games, and the kitchenware is better than my own at home. I have no complaints about our stay at all... the only thing missing was a nice hot tub for relaxing tired hiking muscles, and some bicycle's would be awesome(but they can be rented at few places nearby) I definitely recommend to do a grocery store trip before leaving civilization, as the in town store prices are very high and the next closest is in Marlinton @ 30min drive. As stated it is a national quiet zone... so NO cell reception, but Wi-Fi areas nearby(list on fridge) I especially loved this part... No technology interruptions was awesome! Our dog loved his vacation too.. just beware the neighbors/store down front have dogs, we almost learned the hard way when going for a walk with our dog and them chasing us.(owners hollered and they did halt) but still gave my husband a mini heart attack.
All in all we loved the whole trip and are talking about making it a yearly vacation spot.
The cabin was visually clean upon arrival, except under the furniture, which we moved a little to make room for babies, and therefore the past renters dog hair emerged from hiding under it and had to be cleaned. A better vacuum would be great as well and a good steam cleaning of living room rug.
I also recommend the porch light to be switched to more sensitive, as it is pitch black at night and hard to see once rounding corner of porch to driveway. I used my cell flash light.
The loft area does require almost climbing ladder like stairs, but our kid loved it and the view of TV from above.
