My family of 5 and I had an absolutely wonderful time in Costa Rica, thanks in big part to Casa Infinito! First off, the location was perfect. Up the hill a little bit so that you feel like you are really in the rainforest, but close enough to drive down to shops and local restaurants.
I can't say enough about how awesome it was to be spending a week at a home like this one. It was beautiful inside and out. The pool was the perfect end to a long day of adventures. After all of the fun that we had each day, we could not wait to get back to our house and enjoy our time there. We ordered pizza one night, and made dinner 2 of the nights in our own kitchen because we just loved being there! There were 6 of us total, 3 couples, and we felt that there was ample space for all of us to spread out. We did not rent the extra jungle suite because we did not need it, but that would be perfect for a couple who wanted a little more privacy.
I think the best part of the house was the wildlife!! A few times during the week we got to see the white faced monkeys right on our balcony! They were SO cute! One of them even knocked on the door :) There were also tons of birds everywhere! There were 2 toucans who sat in a tree not far from the house and made their noises every afternoon right before sunset! I wanted to see wildlife while in Costa Rica, and we got it all from our own home.
A couple of suggestions while in Costa Rica:
Ocean Ranch Eco Park is right down the road. This is where we zip lined and took an ATV tour. The guys were SO NICE. My mom was terrified to zip line, but they made us all feel so safe and were constantly making sure that she felt comfortable, and by the time she finished the first line she was laughing and enjoying herself. She said she wished we could do more!
"Costa Rica Waterfall Tours" based out of Jaco is where we did our 'explorer' tour of the waterfalls. It was seriously incredible. I never expected to do what we did on that tour, but it was an unforgettable experience. Again, with my mom who was a little nervous, the guide made us feel completely safe and we had a fabulous time.
For a local dinner right down the hill we went to Booey's Place. Great food and atmosphere.
Don't go on a snorkel tour in the rainy season! Literally NO visibility. Wish we had been told!
I really can't thank Sheryl enough for the time that we had in Costa Rica. It was a trip our family will never forget thanks in large part to Casa Infinito!
