We rented this beautiful home to see if we would like the winters in Pawleys Island. The answer is an unequivocal, "yes". Ron's house was everything promised and more. The house was spotless. My husband has a bad back, and I always worry about the mattress when we travel. We both slept better than we do at home! The Plantation was the perfect place to walk, and most of the people were welcoming and friendly. (Don't miss the "happy hour" at the clubhouse.) When my husband wasn't golfing, he would putt and chip at the club. He also enjoyed a number of other courses at reduced rates, thanks to Ron's informative emails. The restaurants are numerous and varied. Our favorite casual dining was Quigleys, where Monday is "happy hour" all day, and we could enjoy the $2 fish tacos. Chive Blossom was great for she crab soup and salad. Pizza at the P.I.T. (Pawleys Island Tavern) and live music was another fun spot. For the gourmet meals we headed to Bistro 217, and of course, Frank's Outback! A new favorite shop was Breathe, where even my husband enjoyed the artisans' varied , ever changing wares. The Rice Museum in Georgetown was very interesting, as was the Atalaya tour at Huntington Beach. ( On previous trips we visited Hobcaw Barony and BrookGreen Gardens, which should both be a priority for sight seeing.) We have already booked with Ron for a week in May. Can't wait to get back!
