Having used Home Away to find vacation rentals 3 times previously we had high expectations of our Aruba accommodations. Michael's place didn't disappoint. If you are looking for a quiet, safe place to stay away from the busy High Rise Hotels - then this is a good choice.
While it is very close and convenient to Palm Beach (High Rise Hotel Area), a Car Rental is really a must as Taxi's can be difficult to find once you venture away from the main strip. If you do want to use a taxi for a night out, your best bet is to grab a business card when you are on the strip and make arrangements for pick up - getting back is easy as there is an abundance of taxis near hotels.
During our stay we saw most of the island. Driving around is easy once you get your bearings and at not time did we feel in an un-safe area. The apartment is clean but could use an armoire as there was no where to hang nicer clothes for your nights out. Appliances worked well, for the ladies you may want to bring a small extension cord as the outlets were not close to the mirror. We had one small issue with a clogged sink upon arrival, but after a quick email to Michael it was fixed by the time we got back from our days outing (ie - he is attentive to issues should you have any). There is no phone, so bring your cell or rent one from airport - it will be needed for reservations, etc.
We didn't spend a lot of time in the apartment other than sleeping as our days were mostly on the beach (Drive to Eagle or other less crowded beaches - it's worth it) or site seeing. We went on an ATV Tour to see the East Coast of the island, dusty journey but well worth it.
The pool was clean and warm - we used it a couple of times after spending the day out site seeing. We didn't use the BBQ but another family staying at the same condo did and it looked clean.
Overall we found it to be a great place to stay.
