My husband and I were lucky to have found this hidden gem for two weeks. It is off the main road and in a very quiet cottage area. Just what we look for in a vacation rental.
The views from the master bedroom were awesome and sunsets became a celebration. Yes, the beach directly in front the house is affected by the tides, but you may walk to the stairs two cottages away in either direction and sit for hours or beachcomb for shells and sharks teeth. We spent afternoons on the master bedroom deck overlooking the gulf watching the dolphins, pelicans and various shore birds. There are two lounge chairs and a table & chairs to enjoy lunch on this deck.
The house itself is perfect for entertaining with the open floor plan for the main living and kitchen area. Lots of counter space with a prep sink island and four chairs at the counter. Everything was clean and sand free, which is a pet peeve for me. Hate feeling sand underfoot and in Florida, sand is everywhere! We used the other living area for our evening movie watching with the lighted pool just outside the sliding glass door for ambiance.
The pool area made a quiet area for coffee and breakfast. There is a very nice table & chairs with a large umbrella along with lots of other seating around the pool. Floats were provided for that afternoon or evening swim.
Having a garage was nice too. Being able to pull into the garage out of the sun was a very nice homey feature. And the opener worked everytime.
There are four restaurants to choose from on the island itself and several just over the causeway. Anything you may have forgotten is available maybe less than 10 minutes away in Englewood at Publix, CVS and Beach Liquors.
Bruce, the owner, was easy to work with, very professional and prompt with answers to my concerns.
We were both very happy with this property and will give it 5 stars especially after the one iffy review that had me alittle worried before we stayed. After our stay, I would think that reviewer should stick with the "all-inclusive" resort vacations.
