Great escape in a beautiful setting!

We wanted a quiet, comfortable, mountain cabin close to lots of easy hikes (I was dealing with a bum knee and couldn't hike long distances) and gentle outdoor activities, and we definitely found what we were looking for in this "gem" of a hide-away just south of Brevard. We spent 10 wonderful days exploring places in the neighboring Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Forest -- our favorites this trip were canoeing on the French Broad River out of Rosman, visiting Sliding Rock, Moore Cove Falls, Looking Glass Falls, Hooker and Triple Falls, and High Falls (the last three not more than a couple of miles from the cabin). Fawn Lake is also close by and is a perfect "10" swimming lake -- small, unspoiled, not crowded, and clear, warm water (high 70s when we were there in early September). The photos on the VRBO page are exactly what the cabin and property look like, and the description of the accommodations is accurate. The cabin is beautiful -- just what you think of when you picture a log cabin in the mountains. Thanks so much to Brenda and Laura for being such warm and welcoming hosts and for making our stay such a memorable one. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

My wife and I were looking for a quiet spot to enjoy the mountains. We hoped for serenity and privacy, and we found both. The cabin was great, the trout pond gave up to me my very first golden trout, and a 3.5 lb. rainbow. Brenda and Laura were friendly and helpful. Within hours of our arrival my wife was making me promise to bring her back every summer. She has told so many friends I'm afraid we might have to book for next summer right now!
