Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5
My brother and I have been going to Maine for our annual get-together for a number of years. We both agreed that this Port Clyde cottage was the best choice of all. The location could not be better; just steps from the charming little grocery where we could buy essentials without getting in the car and driving for miles, just steps to the wharf to take he ferry to Monhegan and at least three places to eat out within walking distance. Could not be better, not to mention the view from the deck of the house.

The house itself was so attractive and comfortable. We could easily have had a couple more people (we were five) and not be crowded at all. The kitchen is very well supplied and a pleasant place to prepare meals. And the huge living room gave space for those who wanted to sit in a corner and read while others watched a ball game.

I also appreciated the several times that Karan called to make sure everything was going well for us. And she made sure that the house was spotless for our arrival. We all agreed that this was a place we would love to visit again. Maine at its best--and that is saying a lot!

Wonderful house in beautiful Port Clyde

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at the Port Clyde Cottage this past July and had a fantastic time. Karan and Gerry are excellent hosts and were on hand to answer questions and recommend restaurants, fishing spots, and fun activities. We loved being in the village of Port Clyde where we could walk to the ice-cream shop, the general store and the lobster pound. There is also the cutest bar located in a red barn, accessible by walking across the back lawn, and open from 4:00-8:00 Thursday through Sunday. It was a perfect spot to grab a drink after a day of hiking on Monhegan or swimming at Drift Inn Beach. Port Clyde is definitely a hidden gem!

The house is centrally located in the village with beautiful views from the back deck and docks. The house is so livable! There are plenty of pots, pans, dishes, games, toys and anything else you could need to make you feel at home. We had great ping pong tournaments in the game room and lobster boils on the dock. We hated to leave and can't wait to go back!
