The owner, Vickie provided quick, helpful, and friendly responses to our many questions. Our 5 day stay was the best family vacation we have ever had. The place was larger and more beautiful than the pictures showed. The setup of the home was perfect! We had breakfast every morning on the screened porch, sight-seeing with binoculars off the deck, shell hunting and fishing at the pier. A whole conch unoccupied rolled up at the shore during our stay. We enjoyed a comfortable sleep with beautiful view from our master bedroom. The spacious walk-in closet was great storage for luggage. We ate out the first night in Beaufort and toured the many stores. We stopped at the closest grocery (Food Lion -35 minutes away) and stocked up for the week before heading back. We enjoyed cooking our meals in the well laid out, spacious kitchen. We have a Mako skiff boat that we put in at the free NC Wildlife boat ramp 2 miles down the road. (I would not recommend the nearby campgrounds for a put in.) Out on the boat we experienced the most incredible wildlife: pod of dolphins on two separate days in two different locations, horseshoe crab w/baby on its back, a 5’ sand shark playing in the current off a sandbar, an enormous amount of birds, multiple stingrays, and out of the dozens of whole conch shells we found we were able to find 9 uninhabited to bring home. Flounder fishing was great but the view from the many sandbars and islands we visited was breathtaking. We hope to visit again soon.
