We had a particularly memorable week at the Rye Chalet—it was where we had our wedding. A year ago we were lucky enough to find the Rye Chalet listing and still more fortunate that Merry Lee was the owner. Warm and friendly, laid-back and professional, Merry Lee said yes to us when we asked if we could use the Chalet to host one of the most memorable days of our lives. She introduced us to the most wonderful and talented group of people that all helped to make our day as close to perfect as it could be. We are forever grateful.
The Chalet is quiet and relaxing. We could drive a short distance down the road to the golf course and Lake St Catherine State Park. The Wells Country Store has delicious donuts and muffins among other Vermont goodies—just a short 5 minute drive. The view from the balcony was like a painting, and we spent a lot of time taking in the beauty. The Chalet’s interior, recently renovated, boasted a hand-made floor (incredible!) and tasteful décor in each bed and bath throughout. The kitchen was fully stocked with necessities and extra touches, too. The property itself is impressive. There are plenty of paths through the forests, expanse of lawn to play bean bag toss on and a fire pit to hang out around at night. We can’t wait to go back.
We highly recommend this magical green mountain getaway—any time of year. It’s impossible not to end your time at the Chalet without a big smile and a load of great memories.
