I stayed at this 1-bd apt in early June 2013. This place was pretty much as advertised.
Tom, the owner, communicated well and his explanations regarding certain amenities were useful.
The apt is just beyond (and under a mile from) the Northstar village complex where a number of
shops and restaurants are located.
Furnishings were spartan, but adequate. The kitchen had a complete set of very clean cooking utensils, cutlery and tableware. A collection of board games and Disney movies made it pleasant for my 8-year old. There is laundry and storage available just outside (though I did not need to use it).
Stay here allows use of the HOA club ($2/person/day) which has a couple of swimming pools, several hot tubs, a number of tennis courts as well as a variety of arcade games. This club is
located close to the Northstar village complex.
When I arrived around 5 pm, I found that the apartment had not been cleaned.
I contacted the owner and when I returned after a couple of hours, I found it clean. Mistakes happen; what is more important is that they get fixed promptly - that is what happened in this case.
This apt is not as luxurious as the accommodations in the Northstar village itself, but it
is a great value for the money, especially if you tend to spend most of the time outside.
Finally, this location is reasonably close to the north shore of Lake Tahoe where activities abound.
