The listing for this property is entirely accurate. The property, in a quiet, residential area is immaculately clean as well as very tastefully furnished. The owner's attention to detail extends from small decorative touches which make the property "beachy" yet homely, to the use of very high quality bed linens - a pleasure to slide into at the end of a busy day.
The pool and surrounding area are also spotlessly clean and the pool is professionally maintained on a weekly basis.
Our communications with Susan (the owner) and her daughter Annalise, who lives close by, were never anything but professional, courteous, prompt and friendly.
The property is a real home from home and the owner generously shares with her guests items which would be too bulky with which to travel (such as beach chairs and cooler box). These were a godsend.
For our part, Siesta Key beach was the great "find" of our trip. We hadn't heard of it before traveling. The town itself has a very chilled-out, bohemian feel to it and is buzzing at night with numerous good, beach style restaurants and live music. The locals are genuinely friendly and really seemed to care whether we were enjoying whatever it was we were doing. The beach itself is another pearl. The softest, whitest sand (which is COOL underfoot even in blistering 100 degree temperatures) and the warmest sea we have found anywhere. Bliss!
Our 14 year old daughter's dream came true when we made the easy drive to Clearwater where we visited the Marine Aquarium which is home to the rescued "Winter", dolphin star of "Dolphin Tale" (and soon Dolphin Tale 2), the film which was shot on location at the aquarium in 2010. We highly recommend their marine safari, which is around an hour and a half long. A net is dropped into the water and the catch brought on board (as part of a local research project run by the aquarium) Great care is taken with anything caught and creatures are returned promptly at the end of each trip. There is always the chance to see dolphins in the wild during the trip (which sadly we did not on this occasion, but we did see a manatee). Our trip was lead by a young marine biologist whose phenomenal knowledge of sea life kept us fascinated. I never knew fish could be so interesting!
My only hesitation in recommending this property is the selfish thought that it may become so popular that it may not be available the next time I wish to visit Florida!
