We have just spent 2 weeks in this lovely spacious villa. We were three families, 6 adults and 6 children (12 -15). We all loved the house and found it very functional. We had 4 cars and all could park inside the fence of the property. The garden surrounding the villa is beautifully kept and a gardener comes by once per week to maintain it. The pool was kept clean and the terrace was large enough so it did not seem crowded.
The kitchen with the terrace right outside for outdoor meals is very practical, we had breakfast outside every morning and had barbecues in the evening when we did not want to eat out. The kitchen is well equipped for 12 people.
The bedrooms are spacious and upstairs bedrooms all have air-condition and en suite bathrooms. The only thing about the villa that we think could be better is that the basement bedrooms don't have air-conditioning only fans, and that you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other. The two basement bedrooms share one bathroom and the inner bedroom which you enter when you go down the stairs from ground floor does not have any windows to the outside making it a bit gloomy. But the 15 year old's liked it anyway, since the wifi speed was good they were happy.
Many mornings were spent by the pool with the afternoons and evenings exploring various towns and beaches along the coast. Don't miss the little town of Porches, its just a ten minute walk and they have a couple of cafes to have a snack and two nice restaurants. For a gourmet food experience book dinner at O Leao de Porches, French cuisine and really really good food. Best meal of our holiday.
Cleaning and towel/linen service was good and as promised. We would also like to praise the house manager Sarah for the great service and prompt action when the dishwasher broke down. A service guy came the same day and then we got a new machine the day after when the old could not be repaired.
Other activities in the area: If you like to ride horses - there is a nice stable a 10 minute walk from the house in Vale de Oliva, towards Porches and to the right. A German woman runs the stable and she has 14 good quality horses, Lucitanos mostly. This is also a farm to visit with children as they have kittens, a pet pig etc. You can get dressage lessons or go for hacks. For experienced riders she has a wonderful 2 hour evening hack to the beach of Armacau de Pera. Nothing beats cantering on the beach during sunset:-)
