Came in June 2013 with 4 young children, all under 9 years old. Owners Glenn and Joyce are fantastic, very considerate. Everything you need is there from extra set of keys, binder containing info for local attractions, menus for local restaurants, well equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, two TVs, and four clean wooden floor bedrooms which were perfect for our young children who have had issues with dust allergens in the past. No issues here! We visited the beach daily, and I feel the private beach deserves a separate paragraph.
We drove up and down cape cod all the way to Provincetown, stopping at various beaches along the national seashore. Many were sandy, with large dunes. Many were crowded. Others were rocky. After visiting several, I have to say that the beach house has the best beach we visited. Just a handful of families sitting in lounge chairs chatting, really feels like your own beach. On the left hand side facing the ocean, a rocky/tide pool area where the kids found hermit crabs, snails, crabs of other kinds up to 5 inches long, shrimp an inch long. And the rest of the beach which is what you would expect - during low tide, a stretch of probably 100 yards towards the water of soft sand to build and play with. Look to the left and you have rocks and tide pools. Look to the right and you have fine sand as far as the eye can see. I'm telling you, this location is hard to beat.
Because Plymouth is a bit further north than the rest of the Cape, we found it convenient to visit Boston several times during the week. Did the Duck tours, Children's museum. In Plymouth, visited Plimoth Plantation. Also went to the Thornton Burgess Museum (author of Adventures of Peter Cottontail)
My first time using homeaway.com, and after this experience, we plan to come back!
