Fish in the stocked private pond; wade in the bold creek that winds through our five-and-one-half acre property; play a game of horseshoes or badminton in the large open field; sample some of the blackberries, grapes, or raspberries in the vineyard; or just Relax in a rocking chair by the fireplace.

My husband and I live in Ocoee Florida. We love the mountains and we love staying in our cottage when we vacation.
Sandra purchased this cottage in 2005
We choose this area because we have a daughter in the area, and we love the mountains/streams/waterfalls. There is so much natural beauty and we never get tired of enjoying it.

We got back Sat. evening from the mountains. We had such a great time. We just relaxed and enjoyed being together as a family. The girls loved the creek, the berries, the fire pit , feeding the fish-really they loved everything. They really grew closer as sisters through all their exploring together. Rebecca cried when I told her we were leaving. She said she wanted to stay at her little house.

We had a wonderful stay at your Creekside Cottage. The atmosphere in the house was so comfortable. The kids spent a great deal of time at the creek, running in the field, and picking those delicious black-berries. We even built a fire at the campsite one night and roasted marshmallows. Overall, I would have to say you have a great place there... a most pleasant retreat.

Sandra, I'm sorry I didn't get to comment earlier. My wife, Sondra, our friends Brad & Bunny & I really enjoyed our stay the last week of June. Your house is everything you said & more. You understated the humor in feeding the fish. We actually looked forward to it every day. It was amazing to see the fish as they seemed to follow you when you walked next to the pond to feed them. Every night we were out on the front porch or on the swing watching the fireflies, which were amazing. The engineering feat of feeding the pond with the creek was very neat. Both myself & Brad thought it was quite unique. As we walked the property we noticed the peach & apple trees. We enjoyed eating the berries. They were quite tasty. However, the big mystery to us was where is the 3rd fireplace??
We look forward to staying again in the future.

us. It's truly a beautiful place. We felt very much at home there.
The fish in your pond were very cute...we couldn't bring ourselves to
keep any of them, though, so we went to the Brown Trout at Toxaway and
had a trout dinner instead. Our fishing trip with the guide from
Davidson River Outfitters went well, and Katie picked up fly fishing
very quickly. We both caught lots of fish, so I highly recommend them
if any of your other guests are looking for guides. I think I
succeeded in getting Katie hooked on the sport...she can't wait to go
again. And it was nice to be able to come "home" and sit by a warm
fire after wading in a cold creek all day.
Thank you again. We don't take vacations often, but when we do, we
like to make them special, and this was definitely that. We hope to be
able to return soon.

What a wonderful weekend - such a relaxing atmosphere. I felt like I had gone home to the family place. The cabin had everything that we needed for a wonderful vacation. We were so pleased with the flowering trees and shrubs, I can't wait to see it in the summer when everything is in full bloom. We enjoyed the creek being so close and to hear the moving water whenever we were outside. The birds were a joy to watch and try to figure out what type each was. After our busy days it was so satisfying to sit in front of the fireplace and relax, the garden bathtub was the perfect wasy to end the day. Our bed was so comfortable - we slept more soundly than we do in our own bed at home. Thank you so much for sharing your Creekside Cottage with us for the weekend.

This was one of the most memorable of many vacations Linda and I have taken together over the years. We simply loved your house and especially the yard and property. The weather was great all week. We spent most of our time outside and took many pictures of butterflies swarming the fruit trees. We cancelled a planned trip to Asheville because we didn't want to leave!
It was a delight to meet your neighbors, Elmo and June Crowe, who owns Hillside Gardens on Pickens Highway. Their daffodils were still in bloom l last week.
We're already talking about booking with you again. It's too bad we'll miss the rhododendrons blooming.

We spent 4 lovely days at creekside cottage with our two teenage sons during the last week of December. It was just beautiful. We woke up to heavy frost every morning, enjoyed the wood burning stove, and the gas burning fireplace. It was fun feeding and catching the fish in the pond; and we loved the cozy decor. We traveled to Maggy Valley to ski, and to the Biltmore Estate, we took advantage of the crock pot in the kitchen to come home to a warm delicious dinner. It is a great place to make family memories.

We had a wonderful stay, the pictures do not do it justice. Sandra was very helpful, and her children who live in the area made sure we were comfortable, there were so many little things to make you feel welcome, like the popcorn they put out so have some while reading in the nook by the fire, or the homemade Snickerdoodle cookies left for your arrival. There are so many relaxing things you can do, I liked taking an early stroll in the crisp morning air by the stream (if we were there in the summer I would have picked some grapes or berries in their vineyard), feeding the fish in the pond, or just reading by the window, waiting for the deer to come to the salt lick in the back yard. The town of Brevard 15 min. away is full of cute antique and novelty stores, and don't forget to get a picture of the white squrrels at the college. Three days was not enough. We will definately be back.
