Beautiful, Comfortable and Spacious Cabin in the Woods!3 Bedroom 2 Bath

Our Hideaway is located in the Hiawatha National Forest on FF Hwy 13. The house is nestled in beautiful pine trees for ultimate privacy. There are three bedrooms: the two bedrooms on the main floor each have 1 Queen size Bed with log headboards a night stand, seating and a view of the forest. There is 1 bathroom on the main floor as well, with a tub/shower combo and a behind the door laundry chute! The Brand New Spacious and carpeted 3rd Bedroom in the downstairs has 1 King size Bed and 1 Double size bed with log headboards and night stands. It is attached to a large bathroom with ceramic tile floors, a vanity room with 2 sinks, and a separate, but adjacent to, shower/toilet room. The shower is very large with ceramic tile on the floor and walls. The New Bedroom and Bathroom is paneled with beautiful tongue and groove Cedar on the new walls and ceiling! For additional guests, there are 2 sofa sleepers and 1 double size futon couch in the spacious living area on the main floor.

We have a 2 car attached garage to offer. You can store all your gear in the downstairs and utilize the washer and dryer. The full kitchen includes large refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, and oven with a glass top stove. In the evenings you can enjoy our beautiful outdoors while you cook over our charcoal grill or fire pit!

Come and enjoy the quiet sanctuary of the Hiawatha National Forest located in the Beautiful Upper Peninsula. Please enjoy our cozy home complete with one acre of quiet. Pets Allowed, No Smoking.

Enjoy your vacation at our Hiawatha's Hideaway in the SPRING. We are so close to many lakes & streams. Fish for your dinner & watch as the beauty of the Hiawatha National Forest comes to life again! The area falls at this time of year are gushing with newly released water.

Cameras are a must!!

In the SUMMER, enjoy your day biking, hiking, or sightseeing on Bruno's Run (within walking distance) and Pine Martin Run (nearby). Or, rent a canoe for a beautiful tour of The Indian River which is only a half of a mile from the house. Walk down to the general store to get an ice cream cone, or relax by a campfire in the back yard & roast marshmallows. Since you usually can't snowmobile during the summer in Alger County, bring your Four Wheelers instead!

Lake Superior is only 12 miles north, so take a beautiful Pictured Rocks Cruise; glass bottom boat ride to view fish and shipwrecks; rent a kayak or jet ski; or, shop in one of many gift shops in Munising, then you can enjoy a fine meal at one of the many local restaurants.

A trip to the Hiawatha National Forest in the FALL is a photographers dream! Highway 13, being a scenic byway, is 36 miles long and full of color in the fall and the most gorgeous anywhere! This is also the perfect time and place for hunting partridge, deer & bear! Our favorite thing to do in the fall is to hike the 2-1/2 miles out to Chapel Rock which has a full view of Lake Superior. On a warm, windy day, the waves of Lake Superior are huge, and encourage brave swimmers!

The WINTER in the Hiawatha National Forest is unbelievable! The beauty alone will blow you away, with newly fallen snow blanking pine trees creating a white tunnel throughout the forest. Snowmobiling, the biggest draw to the Upper Peninsula in the winter, is spectacular on the many miles of trails that take you through picturesque scenery you can only imagine! Whatever winter activity you might enjoy...

From Hideaway Guestbook - Traveled roughly 700 miles! The 4 of us are pretty sore. We've been everywhere there is to go from here. The trails were great; the house was awesome and super convenient; close to everything! Tested our luck at the casinos in Christmas and Manistique; some did better than others!! We're already planning our trip for next year, hope to stay here again. After riding about 700+ miles, we were wondering if you had ever thought of installing a hot tub? :)Thanks for everything!!

From Hideaway Guestbook - Sleds all ran good - trails were great, new snowfall every day! Even won at the casino! Jill & Tom ahead at the 3 card poker. Bill & Brian won $500 on slot (I think they broke even). Stopped at Buckhorn, Dog Patch, Bootk Lake, Woodlands, Bear Trap - did we miss any???

From Hideaway Guestbook - Thanks so much!!! Everything was terrific. Got in Thurs night. Fri am we took boys snowmobiling. Trails were marginal. We found some good trails on Fri afternoon. Then, Sat am took same trails (still good) to Jack Pine to check out Antique Ride. It was fun. Trails so-so in afternoon. We had a great time overall. Boys LOVED the house. They got to pick out their own beds to sleep in - got a big kick out of animals on walls. Thanks for goodies - crayons/coloring books. Boys loved them and the homemade bread!! We'll be back!

From Hideaway Guestbook - Accomodations were VERY nice! Would definitely consider returning in future! Trails were usually beat around Munising. Found best trail conditions going West to Gwinn & to the South. Temps were warm 30-40 during the week so the snow slowly diminished, especially on roadsides. Some side roads were starting to show mud! Hope it snows and gets cold soon - too early for Spring!

From Hideaway Guestbook - We came up from IN to ride for a week. Got here on Sunday, blew up 1st machine on Monday and had to rent one for four days. Got two more and we all had a good time. Blew up another one on Thursday, Man, are we having fun! Went down to Big Springs, real cool, make sure you go at least once! Real nice house and people in this part of MI. Got a real case of monkey butt, rode 800 miles. Garage was nice for snowmobiles! Thanks!

Stayed Dec.26,04 til Dec.31,04. Very nice place to relax away from the hussle and bussle of the real world. Close to the snowmobile trails. Had a nice stay, even on the day it rained. Went to the casino and came out ahead. Will be back again to snowmobile and to boat next this summer. Thanks again for the treats.
