AKALA PUA (Pink Hibiscus) is a newly built, luxury 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom Poipu oceanview vacation home, located just 100 yards from the sparkling, blue Pacific Ocean, and just four minutes walk to either white sand Baby Beach or Lawai Beach. The moment you walk in the house you are greeted by renowned Big Island artist Ezra Muir's lovely Hawaiian landscape painting and you will know you have rented one of Poipu's greatest values. You can just feel the quality that is usually reserved for more expensive beachfront homes.

Downstairs are three spacious and private bedrooms and three bathrooms with tile floors and showers, and granite countertops. Gentle tradewind cross-breezes caress you nightly.

Upstairs are whitewater ocean views from the large great room that includes a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, and living area with windows everywhere. Furnishings are the best South Pacific decor available. And just outside is a roofed lanai for al fresco dining.

Ocean Views from the Living Room: Downstairs are two nearly identical master bedroom suites complete with king-size beds and beautiful bedroom furniture, private bathrooms, plenty of closet space, and cable TV. The third bedroom has two twin beds that can convert to a king bed and a bathroom across the hall. The mattresses are firm and plush. A laundry room with washer and dryer and a one car garage complete the house.

Upstairs is like a tree house, with windows all around the room. There are whitewater ocean views from everywhere, including the kitchen. There is comfortable seating for all six people in the living room and dining room. Plus there is a counter bar for casual breakfasts and snacks. Outside is a nice lanai with a table for four.

A large rear lawn includes a gas barbecue and two chaise lounges.

We arrived on the 11th with son and his grandparents in tow and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Thank you for sharing your home and equipping us with everything we needed. Luckily, beyond towels, lawn chairs, shovels and buckets for our toddler, we didn't need much else. Despite two days of unbelievable rain, we enjoyed Kauai for all its lush vegetation and character, and we're sure to return.

What a lovely and gracious home for our newlywed couple, first grandchild, parents and adventure seeking grandparents. We simply had a ball every day and night. Gourmet meals on the lanai, star gazing in the backyard, mornings at Baby Beach, hiking the Na Pali coast, surfing, driving Waimea Canyon, hiking in the fabulous botanical garden. What a wonderful place you have created for your children. Thank you for sharing it with ours. We'll be back. Thank you.

Our two weeks went by too fast! We loved the house, they thought of everything we might need (TP, paper towels, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, etc). We took the Holo Holo seven hour tour to the Na Pali coast and to the forbidden island of Niihau, rode the plantation train, took the boat to fern grotto, and drove to the end of the road past Hanalei. The guys took the Wings over Kauai airplane charter and said it was superb! Mahalo and Aloha!

Our family had a truly wonderful week here. The house is so well equipped and comfortable! The nearby Baby Beach was great for the toddler who loves both sand and waves. Nearby snorkeling was a plus. This is our second trip to Kauai & we're still finding things to see & do. We hope to return soon.

A great place to recharge. This is a great location even though we almost ccircled the island -- just ran out of roads. Jim, thank you for your tremendous kindness -- to have missed this experience in our lives would have been a great loss. As you suggested, this was our home for a great week.

We feel very blessed that you allowed us to re-schedule this family trip. Our boys, 4 & 7, had the time of their lives! Baby Beach was their favorite. My husband & I loved celebrating 10 years of marriage in Kauai! (with grandparents here so we could actually go out one night) Thanks again! Blessings!

My husband and I and our two teanage children had a wonderful 12 nights here! We came to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we're leaving with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime! The house was perfect for us -- providing ample room and all of the comforts of home. We bought our groceries at SAfeway in Kapaa, so we were able to enjoy relaxing here for a lot of our meals. We had a great time ziplining, horseback riding, golfing, taking surfing lessons from Sage at Blues Seas Surfing School, Smith's luau, snorkeling, and driving both to Waimea Canyon and the north shore. Wow! Thanks so much to the Wisdas for sharing their lovely home with us!

Our last night here on a seven day stay, it seems like we just got here! We went on a kayak tour up the Wailua river, lots of fun! We went on the Hilohana train ride which was also a blast! And the rest of the time we just went to the beach! This is a nice house. Thank you for the stay.
