Why Cynthia and John Monteiro chose Boston

Boston is a city filled with history and culture and features some of the most world renowed hospitals and institutions of higher learning. Our waterfront is busy and beautiful! Boston is often refered to as a 'walkable city' getting you to sites by either foot, train, trolley or subway. The cape and islands are either a short drive, ferry ride or bus ride away. One of our favorites is Martha's vineyard. Maine is an hour away and the outlets in either NH or MA are 45-60 minutes by car. A lot of our visitors like to tour Salem and check out the witch museum and harbor. For the children and adults the Children's Museum, Aquarium and Science Museums are a must!

What makes this apartment unique

You have the opportunity to purchase discount tickets to local area attractions. Just ask Cyndi! We also provide Charlie Cards for your first trip on the bus or train. Just replenish what you use for the next guest to get started.

Welcome Respite in Boston

This studio apartment is very comfortable, well built and nicely appointed with quality furniture, rugs, bedding. Having laundry facilities right at your fingertips was a joy after a week of travel. The hosts are very friendly and helpful with directions, train time to downtown Boston and local restaurant referrals. For the 'light' cooking we did, the kitchen was well equipped. We would definitely stay here again if our travels find us in the Boston area!!

Wife and two children had a 5 week stay here during July 2011 for a summer program in Boston. The amenities are even better than described and the owners are very helpful and accomodating. The location was convenient for getting into Boston and out to Cape Cod and other stops. We also enjoyed various local eateries and shopping. Highly recommended and looking forward to making another visit here when the occasion arises.

Dear Cynthia e John, thank you very much for your warm welcome and your very useful tips for visiting Boston (public transport maps and every kind of information we needed).
Beatiful location e beautiful home, fullfilled with every thing we needed and also somethong more: we'd like to spend more days to try bbq and the external hot tub, but we was on a strict tour plan.
Thank you again.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. Everything we needed was there for us from internet use to coffee to passes to the Fine Arts Museum. WAY nicer than staying at a hotel, being outside of the city, talking and mingling with people who live in Boston, rather than just other tourists. The hot tub was a really nice touch after walking and sightseeing for an entire day. We used the bbq one night which was great as eating in restaurants over and over gets tiring. The owners even allowed us to use their laundry facilities and gave us a tour of their home. Very welcoming, wonderful couple. Once you figure out the subway system, getting around was quite easy. We brought home a Sicilian pizza from the local pizza place and would recommend going there - they serve pizza and Mexican - very tasty. The local market was handy for picking up bbqables and coffee cream, etc. We went to a ball game - not sure about this (price on the ticket was $12, we paid $50 each through Ace). Highly recommend the aquarium - well worth the price of admission and Imax theatre was wonderful. Altogether, had a great time and hope to return soon.

This was a wonderful apartment and was very comfortable for my husband and I and two children (7 and 3). The apartment was very clean and well appointed and the garden was a big plus. Cyndi and John were extremely helpful and charming hosts, we were very sorry to leave. There are a number of wonderful places to eat in Roslindale village (which was very close) and we had some of our best meals in the US here (Sophia's Grotto and the Birch Street Grill were great!). We would stay here again, it was a lovely spot, in a great neighbourhood and very reasonably priced.

Roslindale Treasure

We have just arrived back in Australia after a wonderful five week experience staying here in Roslindale. We could not have asked for more, the apartment was fresh, clean and comfortable in a very pretty garden setting that was welcoming each evening after long days of sightseeing. The Village of Roslindale is special with many shops specialising in food and gifts. The summer farmers market is a must see with lots of fresh produce and craft unique to the village.
The bus trip into down town Boston is made even more enjoyable as the bus travels through Jamaica Plains and down the Avenue of the Arts (Huntington Av.) If you are staying for as long as we did don't forget to get a monthly travel pass (Charlie Card) makes traveling on public transport very affordable.
Cyndi and John are friendly and very helpful, they were the perfect hosts.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to friends and family and will be sure to return.

Hi there! I am very sorry that we had to leave so early and miss saying goodbye too. We were up at 3 and out by 4....got home by 10:30 though, and that was priceless. Yes, I did finish. My time was 3:59.23. I was hoping for something faster, but I was new to the coarse and I had some physical issues (cramping, bathroom break, forgot my inhaler so couldn't breath well...etc) I learned a lot of lessons yesterday, and will hopefully have an opportunity to come back and try again. Boy, it was fun though! I wanted to write something in your journal, but just didn't have time to sit down and comse anyting. I want you to know that we really enjoyed our stay at your home though. I hope we left things alright when we left...didn't know exactly what to do about locking the door. We were very comforatalbe. Thanks again Cyndi! Give our best to John and Christopher. Thank you so much for your hospitality! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Boston and making your "home" our own for a few days! It was very cozy and so much more than I expected! Also, thank you for accomodating our late arrival into the city! You have been wonderful to us and I will surely recommend you to all of my family and friends.
