We have been back from Sayulita for two weeks now, and are still missing it. We had a really lovely stay at Estrella del Mar...everything was just great. I would definitely like to stay there again on future visits. The view was great [and] the all day sun was terrific...

Estrella Del Mar was exquisite. I stayed a week at Casa Estrellita this December, and it could not have been more serene and beautiful: soaring white walls with huge sheet glass windows opening onto the tropical jungle that spreads away at arm’s length on two sides.

The gorgeous photos almost don’t do it justice. The serene simplicity of the design, and the care that has been put into the elegant furnishings and linens, made it feel like a private oasis, just a short walk along lovely, dusty, flower-strewn paths down to the beach or the charming town.

The pool was amazing – like something from a magazine. Set on the edge of a beautiful terrace garden of draught-resistant native plants, the curved outer lip is level with the jungle canopy, the hill falling dramatically down to the sea below. You can see the waves rolling in all along the sweep of Sayulita’s main beach.

Estrella’s owners were equally incredible. Not only do I appreciate their energy-conscious sensibility in the design, they went above and beyond to provide me with information, suggestions, anything and everything I asked about or could have needed.

It was truly the most beautiful, restorative holiday I’ve had in years. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a very special, very stunning Mexican holiday experience. I hope to be back soon.

Estrella del Mar is an exquisite property perched on a cliff overlooking the town of Sayulita and surrounding beaches. We stayed in Marita, the property's lower casita, which is nestled in the jungle overlooking Playa Los Muertos and open ocean. With its floor to ceiling windows, staying there felt like living in a luxury treehouse for a week. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and perfectly appointed and the decor overall is fresh and inviting.

The walk to town and the beach was quick and easy--10 minutes--but Estrella is removed enough to make you feel like you reside on an exclusive hilltop. It's easy to spend the day lounging on the terrace or by the infinity pool. It's also a quick walk to a morning yoga class held in a nearby palapa.

I would highly recommend Estrella to anyone looking to experience the tranquility of an oceanside retreat with access to the bustle and play of a charming beachside town.
