My husband and I just returned from a 3-night stay at Craftsman Cottage and highly recommend this place to others who prefer to stay in a charming lodging rather than in hotels. The photographs accurately depict the clean, well-maintained cottage. The owner was pleasant and available if needed, but everything in the cottage is so great that we didn't need him! I appreciated the way the remote control was labeled--I could easily work the DVD player!
I suggest that visitors to this cottage have a printed map of the area (if they don't have a GPS) because the roads in the neighborhood twist, turn, and twirl. Our map helped us see several ways to enter/exit the neighborhood depending on where we wanted to go.
Asheville has plenty of activities, stores, and restaurants. If architecture is of interest, then the Basilica of St. Lawrence is a must! We enjoyed Vinnie's Italian Restaurant on Merrimon Ave/Rd. and Marco's Pizzeria on Hendersonville Road. (We tend to avoid chain restaurants at home and away!)
I would definitely recommend Craftsman Cottage to friends and relatives!

We had a wonderful weekend staying at the cottage while celebrating our anniversary. The cottage is beautiful, cozy, clean and very tastefully decorated. Loved the Craftsman style. There was a bottle of wine when we arrived, which we enjoyed by the pond. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect - close to Biltmore Village and Downtown Asheville.

We recently enjoyed our first trip to Asheville and loved our stay in the Craftsman Cottage. The space is immaculate, with everything you could need, and is situated perfectly. Surrounded by gardens in a quiet neighborhood, it is still only a short drive from downtown and urban attractions. We would recommend this space to anyone visiting the area, and hope it is available for our next trip!

My sister and I planned a sisters getaway and stayed at the Craftsman Cottage at the end of February. To say it was an incredible experience is a HUGE understatement! The cottage itself is stunning! The details around the cotttage (i.e. all the built-ins, windows, fully equipped kitchen, etc.) made it very convenient and aesthetically comfortable. The bedroom was a perfect size and one of the most comfortable beds either of us have slept on while staying away from home. A great selection of movies made our first night in the perfect way to relax from an afternoon of work and commuting! A very well put together Tour of Asheville binder gave us great insight on places to go, eat, drink, gave us maps, nearest grocery stores, etc. All and all we were extremely pleased with the cottage and LOVED how it was so close to everything we did!! Highly recommend staying at the Craftsmans Cottage!!! We will definitely be back to visit!

This cottage is absolutely wonderful. My husband, 1 year old son and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was the perfect place for us. The views alone were beautiful and comforting. There was so much attention to detail - it has everything you could possibly need for a short or long term stay. The neighborhood is so inviting and we enjoyed strolling around. The hosts are super nice and friendly and I would say this is the best place around town if you're looking to visit Asheville. Thanks for everything!

This cottage near downtown Asheville is wonderful--spotless, safe, comfortable. It is a very short drive to everything you might want to see with an authentic Asheville feel. The quiet balcony overlooks a wooded area under the stars. The owners have thoughtfully provided everything you could possibly need--parking, beautiful bed linens, two bathrooms, DVD's, wireless, books, help with the details-- and the Arts and Crafts style is restful with a mountain get away feel. Quiet but with all the Asheville zing you could desire.

The fireplace was a plus for a cold and snowy week. The holiday decorations were a nice touch. The extra half bath was also nice. We enjoyed sittting by the fireplace and watching the snow. The craftsman style was beautiful but the dim lighting (especially in bedroom) made reading a little difficult.

Great place for a charming week or weekend

My husband and I were here for almost a week. The cottage is very private in a quiet residential neighborhood. Very comfortable and nicely warmed by the heater and the gas fireplace. Beautiful craftsman style but we found the lighting a little dim for our older eyes. Otherwise loved the place. Enjoyed a great meal at Salsa downtown and Bone Fish by the Carmine movie theater was also a great meal. Would like to come back in the summer months and would definitely stay here again.
