Our stay at Lady Lace was, in a word, perfect. We loved it all---the wee little garden terrace in the center of the living area...the lovely framed lacework pieces (created by our hostess!)...the generous table, complete with complementary Belgian chocolates as the centerpiece display (they looked so inviting, we each ate just one a day to make them last)...the Belgian beer in the fridge.
And the location was spectacular. We just walked out our door and we were already "there"! A short distance to the left was our little market for breads and fruit and good things to fix for breakfast and lunch. A few doors down to the right was Ipou's little shop, with excellent French Rose for just over 5 euros a bottle---what a find. And he had ice cream and other goodies, so we were in and out of his shop all day, every day.
A few more blocks to the right was the market square---the hub of activity, including the biweekly market, which I loved! We enjoyed the canal boat ride...and the shops...and the amazing parade that we happily happened to be there to see. But mostly we enjoyed just hanging out in the market square eating frites, and walking the charming old town from one end to the other.
Thank you to our host and hostess for an absolutely wonderful stay at Lady Lace. They were immediately available to help in every way, and were very welcoming. We would highly recommend this charming little house to anyone planning a stay in Bruges.
