If you are planning a trip to the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley to relax, do some wine tasting, reunion, honey moon or to take part in a bicycle race, Oak Creek is the perfect place to use as your vacation get away.

The 2,525 square foot home was built only ten years ago. It features an open air, indoor/outdoor floor plan. Enjoy spacious rooms with large windows, bamboo floors, carpeted bedrooms, ten foot tall ceilings and all stainless steel kitchen appliances. The kitchen, located in the center of the home, is fully equipped for any chef. Herbs can be harvested in the garden and enhance your meal! The view of the waterfall and garden while cooking will give you great energy.

An inviting wood burning fireplace with plush seating all around add extra comfort on those cozy nights. You can also hide in the reading room, full of books, and relax with candle light. The inviting dining room is always ready to share laughter and cheer and it is also a perfect place to play board games!

Each bedroom is decorated with the ultimate relaxation in mind. Lush feather bedding may leave you wanting to stay in bed all day long! Each mattress is therapeutic so that you sleep rested and sound.

There are two bathtubs for those guests who want to relax their muscles. From two of the three bedrooms there is a sweeping view of the garden.

The landscaped garden is amazing both during the day and at night. A curly Willow has over time formed a shaded garden roof and provides for a nice area during the hot Santa Ynez Valley summer days and perfect for bird watching. The bamboo keeps the garden green during all seasons. Grapevines, blackberries, blueberries, lime tree, peach tree, plum tree, apple tree and olive tree keep our guests taste buds happy! The gorgeous waterfall attracts extensive birdlife that is enjoyable to watch. For you sun lovers, relax in the chase lounge chairs.

The charcoal BBQ is ready for any menu along with an outdoor fire pit that may excite the smores enthusiast in you.

The front porch is perfect for you early risers. Brew a cup of coffee and pick up the daily Santa Barbara News Press and the Wall Street Journal delivered to you every day. Relax under the Wisteria covered porch while covered under a cozy blanket and watch the sunrise with cup in hand . The house cat Hurley might join you in hopes of a belly rub. He stays outdoors for most of the day but likes to come inside from time to time. No matter what your reason for coming to the Santa Ynez Valley, Oak Creek will make your stay all the more relaxed and enjoyable. It is the perfect home for couples, friends and families alike.

About Eva Powers

My husband Warren and I met in Buellton and a local restaurant some 30 years ago when I was visiting the area. Born and raised in Sweden, Solvang seemed like the right place to be. There I could find some Scandinavian home cooking if needed. One thing led to another and after a few years, Warren and I ended up setting our roots in the beautiful Valley we all know as Santa Ynez. A lot has happened since. Our two now grown children grew up in a safe and amazing environment where neighbors care for one another. The towns of Santa Ynes Valley are all close to each other. Where ever you go for a stroll, you are sure to run in to someone you know. It is small town living at it's best. My husband is in the resaturant business and I am a Landscape Designer. When staying at our homes (Costa Rica, VRBO 340019) we always feel we are on vacation. Since moving to the Valley, we have lived in two homes. Solvang 'The Sunny Valley' has changed quit a bit since I first arrived. The Danish community has grown into an extensive and flourishing wine and equestrian industry. Not too many years ago the bicycle racing teams found what a fantastic place Santa Ynez is to train in their sport. Every day you see teams of colorful bicyclists riding every scenic road.

It is a unique place.

Why Eva Powers chose Santa Ynez

We choose to move to the Valley when we found the right home to raise our family. The schools are top notch, people care for one another, every day is a gorgeous day. We are only minutes away from mountain trails, gorgeous beach, parks, friends and shopping. Santa Barbara is only 1/2 hour away and it is not far to San Francisco or LA. The five cities just north of us is another vacation spot to visit, only an hour away. We live in and are surrounded by the best of the best.

What makes this house unique

Our home in Santa Ynez Valley is open, light and spacious. I have a tough time leaving it every time we do and can not wait to return. It is functional and oh, so comfortable. The garden is my sanctuary where I loose myself in gardening. Or I find myself on one of the lawn chairs with a book in hand, catching up on a little sun tan. From there I watch the migratory birds taking a refreshing bath in the waterfall. We spend many evenings entertaining out doors with a fire going in the wood burner. The three bedrooms are of to one side of the house. When there, you have total quiet privacy from the rest of the house. The ceilings are ten feet high through out the home, creating more sense of space. The bamboo floors warms the home. The home is 2,525 sq. feet. We did not want a home that is too large to handle, keeping us away from the things we love to do. We did not want to stay in a house where we felt crowded. We wanted the social life of good neighbors. We have so many fun times together. And I needed a garden small enough to notice every delicate detail that would be a joy to maintain. Not a chore.

We were looking for a home that is perfect for entertaining. Oak Creek has all of this and we are so happy to be able to share the home with you.

Eva,
I traded my cornstalks for Cali's palmtrees.
Was shocked when my husband got down on his knees
We journeyed to Buellton to your neat retreat
Was wowed with the landscape, champagne so sweet
We returned after renewing our vows of true love
And thought it was a sign when we saw two turtle doves
The wind, the rain roared all through the night
The power when off but your candles were bright
So, thank you Eva, for your sweat retreat
It was more then vacation- A paradise suite!

Spacious, comfortable, and relaxing

Having rented many vacation homes in the past, I would say this is one of the best properties I have experienced. The home is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood in Buellton, less than 5 miles from Solvang. My friends and I were in Solvang to ride the century and were able to ride to and back from the start/finish of the course. The home is very clean, well maintained and up to date, and a serene environment with lots of character. There are 3 bedrooms and a full size sleeper sofa is in a little alcove off the entry. We made full use of the open kitchen which is up to date and fully stocked. It was really enjoyable for our whole group to relax together in the open living room/kitchen space. The backyard is beautifully landscaped and also a great space to hang out. Everyone in our group was very happy with our stay here. The owner, Eva, was a gracious hostess and made the rental process easy. I would absolutely rent this home again in the future. Thanks Eva!

Thanks you for taking such good care of us. We had a marvelous time staying at Oak Creek and only wish it could have been a longer stay. During our wine tour we stopped at the El Rancho Market and filled our basked with goodies. Once back at the house we cooked up a wonderful meal. We appreciate that you had taken the time to set the table for us in such a beautiful way. The meal was paired with a wonderful Syrah that we picked up from Roblar. A great recommendation, thank you. We had planned to enjoy the town in the evening but ended up staying at home. A good choice. We look forward to 'next time' Eva.
PS: The bed time chocolate hit the spot.
