Nestled in a canopy of Monterey oaks and pines, Dove Cottage provides a tranquil environment ideally located in the heart of Carmel-By-The-Sea. The craftsman cottage was built in 1931 as Carmel was becoming a popular destination for artists and writers from San Francisco, who spent their summers here. Upon entering you will be welcomed with a sophisticated but relaxed European ambiance. This is my second home, which is reflected in the fine furniture, French antiques and quality design throughout. Located within the desirable 'golden rectangle', it's only a short walk to shops, restaurants, art galleries and Carmel's silky white, sandy beaches.

Californian Paradise

Dear Amy,

We were so excited to be the first visitors in 2011, and escaping from England's dreary chill. It was wonderful to land in the Californian paradise of Carmel and to enjoy surprisingly balmy weather which made sitting out on the deck a pleasure. Woodpeckers, evergreen oaks and the tall pines make the garden an oasis. A pleasant walk down to the town and to the awesome bay and back to this gorgeous, elegant and cozy cottage is all a complete experience. We'll be back.

Fabulous Hideaway

I have just spent a wonderful week with three girlfriends at Dove Cottage - what a fabulous hideaway! We were very grateful for the snacks and wine waiting to greet us after our long drive up from LA. Carmel is such a beautiful place to explore. Although it was so comfortable and relaxing here, we sometimes had difficulty tearing ourselves away. Thank you for the recommendation of Demetra on Ocean Ave. We had a really fun evening there and the food was delicious. Can't wait for our next visit. We couldn't have hoped for a nicer place to stay and absolutely loved the decor.
