We were very pleased that the beach was so beautiful despite the oil spill. I have been spreading the word to everyone back in Kentucky that if they can get down there to go. Now that schools are in session, it will tough, but I would recommend going to Gulf Shores and the Sandpiper to anybody that can get there!!

The ONLY problem were the beds! I can sleep most anywhere and do, as I do a lot of travel in my work but I awakened almost crippled each morning from the beds (I would not normally complain but my partner in the other bedroom suffered the same problem) We thought it noteworthy of bringing to your attention.
Otherwise, it was super as always -- we've been staying at this property for some 20 plus years. (never had this bed issue before!)

The condo was roomy enough and layed out nicely; however, there was mold on the shower curtain liner in the master, long black hair on the master bathroom floor, a general feeling of dirtiness mostly in the master bathroom. The master bedroom ceiling light would not come on so the only light in that room was a small table lamp. I did not call this in as I did not want to deal with maintainance for a single minute of my vacation. The fridge bottom plate was laying in the kitchen floor when we got there and the circuit breaker box was open in the master bedroom. We put the fridge plate close to the fridge and ran into it a couple of times while there. Since there were 43 of us in various condos in the Sandpiper during our vacation, I was exposed to several different ones and ours was the only one lacking in condition. The others were more updated and smelled and looked clean. I bought deodorizer when I got groceries and dealt with it, but I would not recommend any of my friends to this condo even though I would recommend the Sandpiper but in other suites.

15 Year Visitor: Overall the stay was great. However, the property does not appear to be managed the same as in the past. Appears that trash is not picked up as often. Loud music during all times of the day and night is very widely done in many rooms and on balconies. Owner in 6A and other guests put beach towels over railing in front of more than one unit on most days. Elevator was out of service many times. There was more beach trash than in past years and beach trash cans are always overflowing, need more than one beach trash can. People appear to be almost living on the beach. Tents are up all of the time and beach gear is piled up in a mess every night. Tents need to come down every night. Some damaged tents never came down. We enjoy the Sandpiper and have for years, it needs more attention than it is getting in order to stay like it has for many years.

I have stayed at the Sandpiper several other times. Each time I stay the experience is "Better & Better".

The property had a refreshed look about it. Unit 7A was emaculate.

It is an ideal place for family and friends to gather for a quite, beautiful time on the beach.

I look forward to my next get-a-way.
