Photos and Description of the Tahoe City vacation cabin rental
Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 6)

This North Lake Tahoe lakeview and pet friendly cabin is located in the Talmont neighborhood in Tahoe City, along the Tahoe Rim Trail. This adorable cabin has recent updates with new hardwood flooring, a stone gas fireplace, with a built-in flat screen TV, recessed lighting, and a Hot Springs Spa with lake views surrounded by the mountains, complete with a lounger seat with messaging jets from your back down to your toes. Excellent therapy post a day at the slopes!

Near the cabin are wonderful cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, mountain biking, and dog friendly trails along the rim, as well as a beautiful meadow in summer and winter (Paige Meadows). You can walk/hike, snowshoe, or drive to the trail head.

Down the hill from the cabin is the Tahoe Park Beach Homeowner's Association with BBQ grills, picnic tables, volleyball nets, and access to launch canoes and kayaks.

In the spring and summer, the area has a beautifully manicured lawn with brilliant flora. Approximately 25 yards south of the homeowner's beach is Sunnyside Lodge where you can walk, swim, or boat to have amazing lakefront dining and /or cocktails at the lakefront bar. Sunnyside is also a lively spot in the winter for après skiing, with a cozy winter lodge atmosphere.

Approximately 2 miles from the cabin is the Fanny Bridge over the Truckee River, the only outlet from Lake Tahoe. This is also the entrance to Tahoe City, with quaint boutiques, homegrown coffee shops, historic landmarks, galleries, the Cobblestone Cinema, and the Commons Beach Amphitheater, which is just along Lake Tahoe's gorgeous shoreline. For the best cup of coffee and pastry Tahoe has to offer, stop by Tahoe House Bakery just before you get down to the Fanny Bridge.

A modern grocery and supply store is also just beyond the Fanny Bridge. A bike trail, a bike rental shop, a raft launch, a river rafting company, a ski shop, and several riverfront restaurants are also available adjacent to the Fanny Bridge. Locals launch and jump on their own rafts and cruise down the river until floating (or surging depending on the annual snow melt) into the River Ranch, a historic lodge on the banks of the Truckee River with beautiful river and mountain views, and just at the entrance to Alpine Meadows Resort.

Although there are many accessible ski areas, the closet ski areas to the cabin are Squaw Valley Resort (approximately 8 miles), Alpine Meadows and Homewood (approximately 5 miles in opposite directions), and Northstar (approximately 15 miles).

The North Shore is a perfect Tahoe destination, with an abundance of summer and winter activities, and endless scenic treasures! Enjoy!

First of all, I must praise the owner Kate for her friendly and professional demeanor. She is an excellent communicator and truly cares about the quality of guests' experiences!

We took the backroads in one of the season's most epic snow storms to be welcomed by this warm, charming cabin with lots of lovely rustic details. But don't be fooled! We had all the modern conveniences of a nice LCD TV, toasty fireplace, fabulous hot tub, and more.

The views from the deck and master bedroom are something out of a story book! Although were were a party of 4, up to 6 people can stay here very comfortably and the location just can't be beat! There's a Safeway and Tahoe Dave's just minutes away on the main stretch in Tahoe City, not to mention tons of food options.

We will definitely be back! Thanks Kate!

What an amazing house! The pictues do not do it justice. We spent a week here and enjoyed the close location to Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Homewood. The hot tub was greatly welcome home after a long day of skiing. We also enjoyed just lounging on the couch watching movies and enjoying the view. Highly recommend to anyone considering this house! Make sure you have breakfast a Fire Sign Cafe while your there.

Even better than the pictures!

I recently stayed at this property with my boyfriend and a friend of ours. I was pleasantly suprised as we opened the doors and found it to be even better than the pictures indicated. Very clean, cozy, and lots of character. We found everything we needed in the bedrooms and kitchens. It was a perfect ski-vacation getaway and we would definitely go back! When we arrived, we could not get the fireplace to turn on (after reading all the carefully mapped out instructions provided in a handbook) we finally called the property owner Kate. She called her maintenance guy and had it repaired immediatly. The jacuzzi on the deck has great views of the lake, and at night the moon shines on the lake and the stars are so bright! The bedrooms are great, good bedding and comfortable beds. We would love to come back with more friends. We loved that it was also pet friendly (although we did not have a pet with us) and it did not feel like there was any wear and tear from pets having been there in the past. Thankyou Kate for having us in your home!

Lakeview Cabin in lake Tahoe

A really nice place. Everything was exactly as described. We had two teenagers on a ski holiday and the experience was certainly made better with the use of this lovely cabin. Just a quick drive to some fantastic ski areas. Then imagine after a long (hard) day skiing to sit in a hot tub overlooking Lake Tahoe. After that a nice glass of wine in front of the fireplace. We had a great holiday and we fell in love with this cabin. But it can be just as nice in other seasons. Kate was very helpful. Thanks for making our our dream holiday come true! We would be happy to come back at any time.....

Thanks Kate! It was awesome. We loved the cabin. It was exactly as you have it listed on vrbo. It was very cozy and comfortable. We loved the thermostat controlled fireplace and did not even need the actual heater. The view was amazing and I could sit and look at it for hours. One night in the hot tub the moon was so bright over the lake. We enjoyed the town and did a bit of driving around. We took the boys down to the innertube hill and they sledded in your yard as well. Squaw was great for skiing and the whole family loved the village. We ate at the Blue Agave and Jake’s on the Lake. We would recommend both. We cooked most of the meals in your kitchen and found it very well equipped. The evenings were very quiet and relaxing and the sunrise in the morning was inspiring.

We had a great time staying at Kate's Cabin. She is very very nice and responsive to our requests. We had dogs and a baby in our group. Everybody from 2-legged to 4-legged enjoyed staying there and would like to go back there sometime soon.

I went up to Tahoe this weekend to get out of the Bay Area and see some of Tahoe late in the fall season. While the weather didn't cooperate (inches and inches of rain, even some snow!) we had a great Plan B, enjoying Bailey's, some views of the lake and most definitely the hot tub and fireplace. Nice and cozy place, it was easy to find, manage and enjoy...close to town, quiet, all the amenities, and Kate is a fantastic "landlord," checking in and making sure our stay was enjoyable. I could easily see us coming back for a weekend ski trip! :)
