Perfect Location

Thanks to Henry and Marta for a comfy cottage... perfect location for us to call home base on our adventures... Busch Gardens, Sea World, the Ringling Museum (AMAZING), Clearwater Beach, Dali Musuem, Lowry Zoo. Would do it all again. Loved the "Front Porch" and terrific servie and the best steaks we've had in sometime. Back to the snow of beautiful Nova Scotia.. Hope to return for a retreat in the future.

Situated in a lovely historic neighborhood, surrounded by lush Florida vegetation- beautiful vines, Spanish Moss hanging from the trees, and plants that we in Seattle try to keep alive inside our houses grow wild everywhere. The cottage itself is picture perfect and extremely comfortable. The attention to detail was truly impressive. Fluffy towels, robes, slippers, eye-makeup remover... The list goes on. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked and the cottage had the best collection of dvds.

We could not have hoped for a more perfect place to stay! The cottage is adorable and every detail attended to. The neighborhood was our favorite in Tampa. We loved Thomas, the cat! Loved the lush vegitation... Henry was very helpful with directions and suggestions. Wish we could have stayed longer. Sad to leave!
PS bed was SUPER comfy.

Thanks for Enjoyable Stay

Submitted: January 7, 2012 Stayed: December 2002
The cottage is clean with a lovely kitchen. We were close to I-275 so able to help nearby parents on Bayshore Blvd. in Tampa and still be in easy reach of Largo City Fire Department brothers. The weather has been warm, it was in the low 20's when we left Maine. So glad we missed the snow storm. Thanks again for a nice stay, now back to Blue Hill.

Stetching a Short Finnish Golf Season in Florida

Submitted: November 19, 2011 Stayed: October 2011
Erewhon was an excellent base for us. Erewhon can boast of a numerous golf courses in Tampa Bay, many of them within less than 45 minutes drive. We felt very comfortable in the cozy little cottage. Having had similar kinds of accommodations in other countries I must say many things were above my expectations: kitchen:cupboards filled with spices, pasta, coffee, tea. Fridge with milk, butter, fresh Florida juices. Bathroom delights: makeup remover and cotton swaps. Even towels and bed linens whee changed as in a 5 star hotel.

Very Enjoyable

Submitted: November 19, 2011 Stayed: October 2011
Thank you Henry for all your help and also for having the kitchen so well stocked for our arrival something not usually encountered. Loved the neighborhood with all the bungalows and beautiful trees. We can recommend both The Front Porch and Ellas for dinner and we were able to walk to both. Also enjoyed a day at the zoo and sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and petting Thomas the cat.

This is a delightful place, comfortable and attractive, with lots of interesting features dotted around. It has been a great base for us in Tampa while visiting family members. Erehwon Retreat introduced us to a new part of town we had not known of before.

"Erehwon Retreat is located in a lovely historic neighborhood surrounded by beautiful landscaping and large shady trees. The attention to detail and the personal touches provided by the proprietor, Henry Young, are unmatched in my opinion. The cottage we stayed in was immaculate, the kitchen was equipped with everything we might need including a well stocked refrigerator. The bedroom was extremely comfortable and the bath was furnished with luxurious towels, robes and slippers. The decor was lovely with great respect to the style of the architecture.Area attractions, beaches and restaurants are easily reached by car. Erehwon is a quiet and secluded spot for anyone who wishes to depart from the large hotel atmosphere, it feels like home."

Two Stays and One more to come

Submitted: August 9, 2011 Stayed: August 2011
Our two stays at the cottage have been very good and I would recommend staying at Erehwon Retreat.

The cottage is immaculate! Thanks for putting in the new floor in the bathroom since our May 6-14, 2011 visit, it is great. This was our first experience using the French Press Coffee maker and Henry has all the instructions to make great Starbucks coffee.

I love the Seminole Heights neighborhood with the tall oak trees draped with Spanish moss line and canopy the streets. On a hot day in Summer I walked around the neighborhood and enjoyed my day under the coolness provided by the beautiful trees.

We enjoyed the Harry Potter movie in the IMAX Dome at MOSI [Museum of Science & Industry] - something for everyone to enjoy (www.mosi.org.).

We enjoyed some good food at these interesting places:
Colombian Restaurant Seminole Heights 6416 N. Florida Avenue
Arco Iris Restaurant - Cuban Cuisine, 3328 West Columbus Drive, Tampa
Acropolis 14947 Bruce B Downs Blvd # 100, Tampa - great salads - Greek Food
Mauricio Faedo's Bakery Seminole Heights 5150 N Florida Avenue -- great bread & guava turnovers/treats

Our main reason for the trip is ballroom dance lessons with Chris Skates and Kathryn Schaeffer - champion dancers and instructors at Rhapsody Ballroom in Temple Terrace. Besides enjoying Seminole Heights area we enjoyed ballroom dance lessons, movies in the IMAX Dome, good food, and Henry's hospitality. Oh, and Thomas showed up to say hi a couple times to make my day!
