Quebec City Condo Rental Photos and Description
Elegant Vacation Residence - 3 Bedrooms, 2 Full Baths + Library (Sleeps 6)

(Availability Calendar, Pricing, Special Deals and more at Maison Ursulines-com) Spacious 2000+ sq ft, 11 room, elegant and historic vacation residence at the center of Old Québec's magnificent architectural treasurers, located on a quiet, centrally-located street within the ancient city walls; at the heart of the the Old City's UNESCO World Heritage Site and overlooking Upper Town's only memorial square.

With next door 'neighbors' including the 1804 Holy Trinity Cathedral just across the square, the 1722 Ursulines Chapel, Museum and Monastery right across the street, the world famous Musee d'art Inuit Brousseau at the end of the street, Battlefields Park (the world's tenth largest city park) just up the hill, Notre-Dame Basilica-Cathedral just down the street ...and the oldest building in the province (known as la Maison Jaquet) simply around the corner; this vacation residence is at the heart of the Old City

The Neighborhood: Located on a quiet Upper Town street at the heart of the Old City's UNESCO World Heritage Site, the entrance to la Maison Ursulines incorporates the 'Grand Level' or first level of a keyed building constructed of cut granite in the Neoclassical tradition. Upon entering the building's interior foyer, you are greeted by a pair of carved wood and stained glass entry doors leading to a private interior foyer ...that of the residence of Louis-Philippe Pelletier, Quebec's Supreme Court judge in the 1890s and the judge in the famous trial of the King versus Marie-Anne Houde.

Grand & Lower Levels ...The Best Of Both Worlds: The 'Grand Level' has 12 foot ceilings plus restored original Corinthian details and includes the private interior foyer, a living room with 9-foot high shuttered windows (overlooking Upper Town's charming square), a formal dining room (with seating for 10 or 12), a complete kitchen, breakfast room off of the kitchen, a full bath and a library/office. Floors are antique narrow-strip polished natural finish Canadian maple.

The 'Lower Level' presents an intimate ambiance with its profusion of rustic stone walls, decorative fireplace and hued wood beams. The three bedrooms all have clerestory windows and polished walnut finished wood floors. The bathroom on this level is inset into a room with exposed stone walls and features one of two contemporary glass shower stalls, ceramic tile floors and a refurbished period claw-foot tub.

Decorated with antiques, 'over stuffed' country French furnishings and an eclectic art collection; it's a sophisticated yet very comfortable environment.

The Seasons: The Summer Season

Reserve this elegant vacation residence for an unforgettable visit. The summer months are a wonderfully mild season in this magical city with special events daily including New France Historical Celebrations just down the hill and the Changing of the Guard just up the hill in La Citadelle. Throughout the summer, the Old City overflows with window boxes and hanging flower baskets.

The 'Off' Seasons

If art collecting, antiquing, or a quiet romantic get-away's the goal, consider booking a stay during our off seasons. The crowds are gone as the locals 'retake' the cafes and Old Québec slows down to a pace that matches the changing seasons. It's a great way to sample the town's timeless European tempo.

What a beautiful home! We have enjoyed our stay here immensely for the past few days. Old Quebec City is very picturesque and has so much culture. Something out of a story book.

Thank you for sharing your home.

“Good girls go to heaven …bad girls go to Quebec!” Thus begins the saga of the fabulous Houns girls and their saga! What a glorious way to celebrate my 78th birthday with my two daughters. From the beginning to the end, we had a wonderful time and a delightfully fun time.We took in ALL the sights, the wonderful cuisine, got “hit on” by the suave Frenchmen we encountered and this was a major thrill at my lofty age.We highly recommend the high tea at the Chateau Frontnac (one of our few refined moments, but so much fun!)The apartment is spectacular, so beautiful and with every convenience, as well as very accessible. With my heritage of my grandparents being natives of Quebec, I felt a great sense of deja-vux as well as a sense of “belonging” here. It was a moving experience for all of us.Ed was most helpful in every way and we greatly appreciated his help in making this a special trip for us.We will tell our friends about this beautiful apartment and hope to return in the ear future. Merce beaucoup,

A beautiful apartment. Wonderful paintings and books. It would be very easy to live here if it didn’t get so cold in the winter. Thank you for a lovely visit to Quebec.

(Guest Comments) I came here with my boyfriend Vinnie. I was hesitant because Vinnie can be harsh. One day we had a fight and I stormed out and met a nice hansome man from Quebec City. It was amazing, we became instant lovers. I stayed at my new lover’s flat. We retuned to the condo to explain to Vinnie that we were finished. He went into a violent rage.Vinnie and my (new) lover struggled, then Vinnie fell down the stairs and hit his head on the hard floor. I knew it was bad when I saw a few drops of blood come from his right ear. We did not know what to do. We decided to put Vinnie’s body in a large trash bag. We drove to a city park and placed it near a hill and covered the body with leaves and dirt.I confess now, but please remember Vinnie was a very bad man with a criminal record. I doubt he will be missed other than for his hoodlum friends in New Jersey. The stress of the incident led to the fall-out between my lover and me. He was so nice and helpful in getting rid of Vinnie’s body.Other than the drama of all this, I had a wonderful time and found Quebec City charming. The architecture is stunning and the people charming. Thank you and I’m sorry that Vinnie’s ghost might haunt your place.Sincerely,Well, I can’t give my name

Your home made for a beautiful and peaceful stay. It’s location a stone’s throw from everything the old .town of Quebec has to offer. It will be a very memorable experience for a very long time. Everyone also enjoyed the “sofa”! Thank you for making it all possible!

I came here exhausted, left renewed. Best vacation we’ve had in a while and we have four teenagers with us. Who knows where they went every day, but they always returned happy.I love this place and spent way too much time lounging on the wonderful couch in the living room. I want one like that! Will definitely recommend this place and Ed Sweeney to friends visiting Quebec. Don’t wait until the last night to have a drink at the Chateau Frontnac.

Wonderful location to enjoy Quebec. Thake the ghost tour for a dark side of history. If you have small children, there is a pool and playground by the Ste Louis Gate. The Museum of Civilization is also kid friendly. Thanks for such a great place to stay.
