Surrounded by a canvas of roses, hydrangea and privet, the patio is outfitted with new furniture and a large stainless gas grill. The house comes with all of the items needed for beach outings located only a short walk or bike ride away.

The Tour : Gull Cottage, a Nantucket town located, historic home near the beaches, built in the 1820's, was moved from Cliff Rd. to its current location in the late 1800's.

This air conditioned home sleeps 8 and was recently completely redecorated.

The ground level master suite has a California king, flat screen TV, armoire, small library and needlepoint Louis XIV style chair w/ottoman. A new private bath with marble floor is attached.

The upstairs has two bedrooms with twins and one with a queen. A new bath with enclosed laundry is located off the hall. All bedrooms have TVs.

About Robert Barmore

My wife Susan and I were designing and building high end homes in Aspen, Colorado when we bought Gull Cottage. We bought this home as a way to start to move back to our New England roots.

We now live in Portsmouth, NH where we have started a new business called Therma-HEXX which manufactures award winning products ThermaPAVER and ThermaCEILING.

Robert Barmore purchased this house in 2006
Why Robert Barmore chose Nantucket Town

We purchased Gull Cottage in 2006 because it was in the perfect location within town but also near the beaches on a quiet street. We did a major renovation by updating the baths, kitchen and master bedroom and re-insulated the house while keeping the historic charm of the building intact.

We loved the historic nature of the house with its quintessential Nantucket charm.

What makes this house unique

This house has 4 large bedrooms which accommodates 8 very comfortably. The brick patio is surrounded by privet and hydrangeas. We have a driveway that can accommodate 1 car.

The house is very well outfitted with Matouk linens and Frette towels. The bed mattresses are custom made 5 star hotel beds.

The kitchen has high end Thermador appliances. There are two laundries, one upstairs and one downstairs.

Gull Cottage used to be one of three interconnected houses that made up the old Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Our house was used as nurses quarters.

We just got home from an incredible long weekend at Gull Cottage and would highly recommned this place to anyone. The house has been entirely remodeled - beautiful new kitchen/appliances and great bedrooms (awesome beds!). Still, the house maintains that traditional Nantucket charm throughout. Thank you for hosting us, we definitely plan on returning next summer!

Gull Cottage was more than we expected. It is on a beautiful street, surrounded by parks, it's a very short walk to Main St. and the beaches. The furnishings and linens were top notch.

The owners were very accomodating and helped us with all of our needs. They returned our security deposit immediately.

Restaurants and shopping were nearby but the house was out of the hustle and bustle of the core.

We recommend this home to anyone that appreciates a clean, well appointed and outfitted property.

My wife has pet allergies and this home was completely allergy free for her as the owners don't allow pets in the house.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful vacation at Gull Cottage in Nantucket town. The house was spotless and well appointed. The location was so convienent to the beaches and town that we really didn't need our car. Coffin and Lilly Pond Parks were a stones throw away and a great play area for our children. We look forward to returning this summer.
