This was undoubtedly the worst rental experience I've had. Below is what we found upon arrival. As of this writing we are still seeking a refund through the Better Business Bureau.
Two beds had broken frames being supported by stacks of magazines.
Not of the bed sheets or pillow cases had been washed since the last guests. One sheet had
human hair on it and another had an advil tablet under the pillow as well as specks of dirt
all over it.
The blades of the cieling fan had easily over a years worth of dust caked on them and was flaking off.
The carpets had not been vacuumed.
There were chicken bones on the deck.
The bedroom closet shelves we hanging off.
Many closet doors were broken, half missing or missing.
Past guests had clearly been smoking in the pool table area and the smell was still
apparent.
All couches are sagging and the downstairs one has some stuffing coming out of it.
A hole in the downstairs wall.
Paint peeling off the entrance door.
Missing microwave tray and refrigerator drawers.
A garbage pail was full.
No garbage bags or glasses.
Missing light bulbs.
Broken locks on both bathroom doors.
Owner's Response: We have not received any notification regarding the issues mentioned here from the person who signed the lease agreement with us. The person who raised the issues was not a registered guest. According to him, he came with the person who signed the lease as a member of the group; he stated that he chose to stay in a hotel instead of the house because of the reasons described above. However, the rest of the group stayed in the property (for the full duration of the lease agreement) including the person who signed the lease agreement. Now, this individual is forcing us to refund him all the money based on some calculation of his own. We appreciate constructive feedback. We strive to provide good vacation experience to all our customers. Even though we could not locate this
individual who raised this issue in our tenant database, we contacted the person who signed the lease. We will work and resolve any issue, if raised, with the person who signed the lease but, we, unfortunately, can't respond to the people
whose names are not on the lease.
As this individual is stating that he is seeking a refund through BBB, we will respond to BBB's inquiry when we receive it.
